We are seeking a proactive, results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth and scale our impact in the renewable energy ecosystem.
You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, acquiring clients in the solar industry and EV infrastructure, and driving revenue through the promotion of our workforce matching and training solutions.
A core part of your role is to develop and execute marketing campaign strategies across various channels and to execute campaigns to achieve Instollar's business goals seamlessly.
You will also serve as a key liaison between the organization and its stakeholders, helping to build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with sponsors, stakeholders, and clients.
Role Responsibilities
Client Expansion & Client Acquisition
Identify and pursue business opportunities across solar energy value chains: SHS, C&I, mini-grids, and mesh grids.
Identify and pursue business opportunities across solar energy and EV infrastructure value chains, including SHS, C&I, mini-grids, mesh grids, and clean transport networks.
Develop and manage a strong pipeline of B2B clients, solar companies, EV infrastructure companies, OEMs, project developers, and EPCs.
Lead client acquisition and onboarding processes, from outreach to negotiation and contract closure.
Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute outreach campaigns.
Represent Instollar at industry events, exhibitions, and partner forums.
Develop proposals and pitch decks tailored to various client segments.
Coordinate with the product and tech team to align business development insights with platform development.
Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and insights to the leadership team.
Cultivate strategic partnerships with donors, accelerators, and industry associations
Nurture potential sponsorships and strategic partnerships that align with our mission and objectives with solar companies and energy developers across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Lead client acquisition and onboarding processes, from outreach to negotiation and contract closure.
Interprets fundamental internal and external business challenges and recommend best practice to improve processes or services. Stay informed of industry trends that may inform work.
Serve as a point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and sponsors and foster strategic relationships through meet-ups, events, and satisfactory service delivery.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Initiate and implement a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, markets, product lines, sales processes, campaigns or customers.
Attend events and strategically position Instollar as a business partner with a unique green workforce solution.
Strategically position Instollar at key events as a business partner offering workforce and deployment solutions for both solar and EV infrastructure.
Build strategic partnerships with solar energy companies, EV companies, mobility providers, and clean transport stakeholders across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Stakeholder & Client Management
Foster client relations and satisfaction, and cultivate strategic partnerships with key decision-makers.
Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure alignment in service delivery, client communications, and brand messaging.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Collate, track, and manage the market insight database, and report sales pipeline
Monitor partner and sponsor campaign performance metrics and compile regular reports, providing insights and recommendations to optimize
Other tasks as assigned by the CEO.
Role Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
5+ years of proven business development or B2B sales experience, preferably in clean energy, Tech and Recruitment.
Solid understanding of Nigeria’s and Sub-Saharan Africa’s clean energy and electric mobility landscape.
Strong network in the renewable energy, EV, or workforce development sectors.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver on tight deadlines.
Passion for clean energy, youth employment, and tech-for-good models.
Proficiency with CRM tools, proposal writing, and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Canva, etc.).
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills, capable of multitasking and meeting tight deadlines
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Docs
