SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineering services to join its work force in Nigeria.
Responsibilities
Lead the preparation, planning, execution, supervision, commissioning, cost definition, and follow-up of major
interventions and overhauls on both rotating and static equipment packages across JV assets.
Supervise the implementation of major and minor shutdowns and equipment improvement projects, ensuring safe, cost effective, and timely execution in line with company standards.
Prepare all necessary procedures, planning documents, spare parts lists, and manpower requirements for equipment interventions.
Perform and supervise on-site interventions, including equipment change-outs, repairs, and modifications, with or without OEM/FSR supervision.
Coordinate all trade tasks during interventions to ensure timely completion and hand-over to the Production team.
Prepare and manage work packs for equipment intervention activities.
Review and control the standardization of materials and spare parts for mechanical and rotating equipment, ensuring availability for routine, defect, and shutdown maintenance while minimizing stock value.
Support the Mechanical Maintenance team and Head of Rotating Equipment in preparing budgets, contracts, vendor mobilization, warranty claims, and other support functions.
Liaise with vendors and OEMs for technical queries, spare parts, drawings, maintenance issues, and modifications.
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for new and overhauled equipment to verify compliance with design and performance standards.
Develop and monitor the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for rotating equipment.
Propose and justify improvements to enhance equipment availability, efficiency, and maintainability.
Conduct failure analysis (e.g., cause tree analysis) for equipment breakdowns and issue recommendations.
Ensure proper use and updating of the Computerized Maintenance Management System, including logging all
maintenance activities and ensuring all documentation (drawings, PID, manuals) is up-to-date and reflects “as-built conditions.
Review and verify contractor work for compliance and quality, make necessary corrections, and submit for endorsement and payment processing.
Liaise with authorities and partners on budget preparation, performance monitoring, and cost recovery.
Follow up on statutory inspections, integrity assurance, and certifications for rotating equipment.
Deal closely with COMPANY field operations in maintenance, procurement, construction, projects, and logistics.
Externally to deal with Nigerian partners and equipment’s OEM.
Oil production platforms are located offshore (40 KM) and Onshore.
Subsidiary is in strong phase development. Managing a rapidly aging infrastructure

Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent in Engineering
Experience: Over 10 years of professional experience in the oil and petrochemical industries, with a strong focus on rotating and static
equipment. At least 5 years in a supervisory role.
Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment including turbines, engines, pumps, compressors, cranes, and valves
Strong understanding of rotating equipment design philosophy
High-level proficiency in maintenance systems and methods.
Skills:
Proven ability to deliver high-quality results under pressure
Strong organizational and team management capabilities
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Certificate:
Valid BOSIET OPITO approved
Valid Medical certificate that state fitness to work in offshore and onshore oil and gas installation.
