We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Guest Room Attendant

Location: Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose of the job

• The cleanliness of the entire guest house rests in the hands of the guest room attendant, who must ensure that all rooms, guest contact areas, and the back of the guest house are cleaned daily.
• Dimension: All guest rooms, corridors, staircases, reception area, lounges, toilets, halls, courtyard, back of the house and the offices are daily swept and scrubbed.

Nature and scope of position

• The housekeeping activity is one of the major activities that ensure guests return patronage; all areas must be kept scrupulously cleanwithout interrupting the peace or activities of the guests in-house.

The Job

• The major role is to ensure that all guest rooms and public rooms are serviced and cleaned daily.
• To ensure that halls are cleaned before and after every use.
• Ensure that rooms are dressed in clean linen and all guests’ supplies are provided daily.
• To ensure that rooms are checked regularly for faults, which are reported to the MS for attention

The above includes the following:

• Dress rooms, make beds and arrange furniture in an attractive and pleasant style.
• Sweep and mop all public areas, reception areas, lobbies, etc.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, corridors, stairways, and other work areas.
• Empty wastebaskets
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms and mops where necessary.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Keep storage areas clean and tidy.
• Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, and bathroom items.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
• Request repair services and wait for repair contractors to arrive.
• Sweep the courtyard, driveway, and all other areas.
• Use a checklist to ensure that all room amenities are functioning effectively.
• Malfunctioning amenities must be reported to maintenance with appropriate follow-up actions.

Job Specification

• Candidates should possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with at least credit passes in 5 subjects, including English and Mathematics with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar job at reputable guest houses.
• Must be a highly disciplined individual, energetic and of sound health.
• Must be a person of integrity, good character, result-driven and able to take good cleaning initiatives.
• The jobholder must be between 20 and 40 years old.
