Job Title: Chief Technical Officer
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Key Responsibilities
Digital Transformation Leadership: Oversee the development, implementation, and execution of the bank’s digital strategy, aligning it with our overall business objectives.
Technology Innovation: Drive the adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, blockchain, big data analytics, and mobile banking platforms) to enhance banking services and improve customer experience.
Digital Channels Management: Oversee the enhancement of the bank’s digital channels, including mobile apps, internet banking, and automated services, ensuring they meet market demands and regulatory requirements.
Infrastructure & Security: Lead the design and implementation of robust, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure to support the bank’s growing digital ecosystem.
Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, IT professionals, and digital product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, Chief Marketing Officer, and other senior executives to ensure seamless integration of technology with business and customer strategies.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and key external partners to ensure that the bank remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that all digital initiatives comply with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and security protocols.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. An MBA, MSc, or relevant professional certification is a plus.
At least 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving digital transformation in the financial services or fintech sector (experience in microfinance is highly desirable).
Strong knowledge of banking software, digital platforms, cloud computing, data analytics, cyber security, and IT infrastructure management.
Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills with experience in building and scaling technology teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Strong ability to think strategically and execute on long-term goals while balancing short-term operational needs.
Deep understanding of the Nigerian banking landscape, financial inclusion initiatives, and digital banking trends.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach to leading technology projects.
Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with business leaders, stakeholders, and external partners.
