An indigenous Gas Processing company is recruiting qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Planner 

Location: Nigeria
Reports To: Project Engineer

Job Summary

• We are seeking a seasoned professional responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive project plans, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while also overseeing resource allocation and risk mitigation, and mentoring junior planners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, timelines, and work breakdown structures.
• Create and manage project plans, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Utilize project management software and tools to track progress and identify potential issues.
• Allocate and manage project resources (human, financial, and material) effectively.
• Ensure that projects have the necessary resources to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
• Develop contingency plans to address potential issues and delays.
• Track project progress against schedule and budget.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders.
• Identify and address variances from the project plan.
• Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure project success.
• Communicate project progress, issues, and risks effectively.
• Monitor project budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
• Work with project managers to develop and manage project budgets. Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards.
• Implement quality control measures to identify and correct issues.
• Work closely with the operations department, project team members and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly.
• Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates.
• Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines.
• Provide support to the existing gas plant operations and projects.
• Any other tasks assigned by either the Project Manager or the Project Engineer.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Project Management or Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in EPCI project engineering or a related field. Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera etc), with a strong understanding of project management principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information.
• Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and think critically to solve complex problems. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
• Proven experience in the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) industry in designing facilities for Oil and Gas Processing and transportation (pipelines).
• Ability to Mentor less experienced team members.
• Experience in basic engineering, FEED and detail engineering projects planning.
• Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
