Job Description

• Hartleys, one of the leading retail supermarket stores in Lagos, Nigeria is hiring a Financial Reporting Manager.
• The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for not only managing the financial health of the business but also providing strategic guidance to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the supermarket chain.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly financial reports, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:

• Prepare timely periodic financial reports (management accounts)
• Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights for business decisions
• Prepare dashboards to communicate financial results.

Financial Analysis & Interpretation:

• Identify and explain variances between monthly actual and budgeted financial results
• Analyze financial trends over time to identify patterns, opportunities and challenges
• Calculate and interpret financial ratios and margins to assess financial performance

Data Gathering:

• Supervision of data compilation, classification, recording, reconciliation and storage
• Ensure financial data accuracy and completeness

Internal Processes & Statutory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with reporting standards, proper documentation, and efficient document control
• Manage timely monthly statutory remittance of taxes and deductions, and filing of returns

Key Performance Indicators:

• Timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly financial statements and reports
• Efficient and effective data gathering, collation, storage and retrieval processes
• Ensure all statutory deductions are accurately computed, compiled and remitted before due dates

Qualifications & Experience

• Candidates should possess a First degree in Accounting from a reputable institution.
• ACA/ACCA with a 3-year post-qualification experience, preferably in the retail or FMCG industry.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint skills.
• Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
• Practical experience with an ERP or SAP.
• Demonstrate good research, quantitative and analytical skills.
