Job Title: Power & Sustainability Manager

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

• Shared responsibility for the civil, mechanical constructions and/or electrical infrastructures.
• Enact and socialize policies on organization's energy use, resource conservation, and waste management.
• Evaluate and develop methodologies for sustainable power, water, energy, waste, construction and operational initiatives.
• Supervise employees working on sustainability projects.
• Coordinate, assist and plan the day to day Mechanical and Electrical Engineering support for provision of utilities, particularly Power and waste processing, from design to execution and operation.
• Coordinate assist and plan construction of civil, mechanical and electrical infrastructure and facilities.
• Ensure that all structural design work and details comply with the Company’s specifications and requirements.
• Develop, execute, and maintain a comprehensive Energy Conservation Action Plan (ECAP).
• Actively participate in the development, execution, and maintenance of an Energy and Sustainability Master Plan.
• Develop metrics and key performance indicators for effective monitoring, tracking, and relevant reporting of energy consumption and sustainable programs.
• Benchmark energy and sustainability initiatives following best practices.
• Ensure that all structural work is executed on time and safely, as per design.
• Contribute creative and innovative ideas to ensure the most competitive offer and the most efficient and safe method of execution.
• Carry out site supervision of project.
• Be able to categorize, review and validate engineering drawings.
• Act as a junior counterpart for the Project manager, project team and other stakeholders.
• Attend client facing and project meetings.
• Advise on design drawing.
• Substantive supervision of subcontractors.
• Monitor equipment and generation units and ensure that they are in good working order.
• Repair or replace plant equipment as needed.

Requirements
Education and Qualifications:

• MBA or Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering especially Mechanical / Electrical Engineering in the Energy sector (with minimum of 2.1)
• Engineering Certification – COREN and Project Management.

Additional Qualifications:

• Preference will be given to candidates that
• Can speak a second language fluently.
• Have experience in the offshore oil and gas industry, working with multinational companies/clients
• Have worked in multinational organizations etc...
• The candidate’s experience and academic record are paramount, but it would be preferably
• if the candidate has international experience

Experience:

• Considerable professional experience gained at least Seven (7) years’ operating at a senior level of management in the private or public sector – leading on energy and environmental issues.
• Experience of managing change in an organization, developing and implementing effective strategies.
• Significant experience on power related projects.
