Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to manage and support the financial operations of our organization.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, be proficient in Excel, and possess a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Job Description
The accountant will oversee daily financial transactions, prepare reports, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with budgeting and audits.
The role demands high attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple financial activities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update accounting records and files
Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
Handle accounts payable and receivable
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger entries
Prepare financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
Assist in internal and external audits
Ensure accurate data entry and maintain documentation for all transactions
Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with financial policies
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information
Generate reports using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts, etc.).
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
Professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) are an added advantage
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 2 - 3 years of practical accounting experience
Proven track record of using Excel for financial analysis and reporting
Experience in a hospitality or service-based environment is a plus
Skills and Competencies:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, data validation)
Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Time management and organizational skills
Integrity and confidentiality
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Requirements:
Must be proficient in Excel and financial reporting
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Must reside within Abaor be willing to relocate
Availability for full-time, on-site employment
Salary
N80,000 - N90,000 / month.
