Job Title: Hotel Maintenance Manager

Job Summary
The Hotel Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining all essential engineering systems of the property, with particular oversight of electrical systems, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and generator operations.
This role ensures that all critical infrastructure functions reliably and efficiently to support a seamless luxury guest experience.
The manager leads a team of technicians to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and uphold safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems:
Supervise the maintenance of electrical panels, wiring, lighting, sockets, circuit breakers, and power outlets.
Monitor voltage levels and ensure safe electrical load distribution throughout the property.
Respond to and resolve power outages or electrical malfunctions quickly and safely.
Air Conditioning (HVAC):
Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces maintain consistent and comfortable temperature levels.
Supervise the servicing, cleaning, and repair of split units, central cooling systems, chillers, and ventilation ducts.
Schedule and perform regular AC system inspections and preventive maintenance.
Generators (Power Backup):
Oversee the operation of standby generators, including routine checks, fuel level monitoring, and switching protocols during power outages.
Train staff on safe and timely on/off procedures for generators.
Ensure proper maintenance, oil checks, filter replacements, and compliance with fuel safety regulations.
Plumbing Systems:
Supervise the installation, repair, and maintenance of water supply systems, sewage, drainage, and bathroom fixtures.
Ensure uninterrupted water supply, optimal water pressure, and fast response to leaks or plumbing issues.
Monitor water heating systems (boilers, geysers) and drainage lines.
Team Management & Training:
Lead a team of maintenance technicians and assign tasks based on urgency and specialization.
Conduct routine training on safety procedures, emergency response, and equipment handling.
Maintain a 24/7 maintenance coverage schedule with clearly defined shift responsibilities.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
Implement a detailed preventive maintenance schedule for all critical systems and guest facilities.
Conduct routine inspections of mechanical rooms, rooftop systems, plant rooms, and service areas.
Maintain maintenance logs, task completion reports, and incident documentation.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce compliance with local regulations, fire safety codes, and health/environmental standards.
Coordinate with external vendors for inspections, certifications, and specialized repairs.
Ensure all maintenance staff follow proper lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor`s Degree / HND / NCE / OND qualification
Proven experience minimum 3 - 6 years in a similar maintenance leadership role in hospitality
Strong technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing)
Solid understanding of health, safety, and regulatory standards
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to manage budgets and maintenance records
Relevant certifications or technical training; engineering degree is an added advantage
Flexible availability, including weekends and emergencies when required.
