Job Title: Nutrition / Health Manager (Roving)
Location: Borno
Job Type: Contract (6 months with possibility of extension)
Job Purpose
We are currently looking to fill the role of Nutrition and Health Project Manager who will be responsible for the overall management including personnel, budget, logistics and work plans management of Nutrition/ Health project implementation.
The post holder is also in charge throughout the project life cycle, this involves effectively managing and reporting on the projects in line with its specific scope, schedule, resources, quality, risks, representation, coordination and contractual requirements.
The PM will provide technical support, leadership and strategic direction to Nutrition and Health team.
Responsibilities
Technical Support to Program Design and Implementation:
Ensure quality and timely field-level implementation of the Nutrition/Health program against set objectives, targets, and work plans.
Ensure effective implementation of Tom Brown Supplementary Feeding Program (TB-SFP) across LGAs of intervention.
He/she will work with the technical advisor to provide technical assistance as well as supportive monitoring and evaluation of Tom Brown Supplementary Feeding Program (TB-SFP) activities.
Draft supervision guidelines to ensure quality delivery of Outpatient treatments for SAM and MAM in children under five years of age
Mentor and train the technical advisor on nutrition/ Health teams in treatment protocols and support them.
Supervision and provide refresher training on CMAM.
Support regular nutrition program evaluations and rapid assessments identifying needs and making practical recommendations to address them.
Facilitate the conducting of focus group discussions with relevant communities for feedback on program activities.
Provide technical support expertise to the program to align field nutrition/ Education programs with SHI.
Represent SHI in all sector/ high delegation and donor meetings
He/she should have the ability to negotiate with donors.
Should have good knowledge of writing proposals, and program reports.
Ensure incorporation of innovative tools and strategies in new project and proposal development.
He/she should be able to conduct stakeholder meetings with govt agencies.
Ensure donor reports are sent timely.
He/she should have the ability to lead a team
The individual should be able to facilitate training for staff on Nutrition/ Health project activities.
Participate in and contribute to regular nutrition coordination meetings.
Project Management:
Oversee nutrition job description reviews, recruitment, orientation, and performance reviews for the nutrition team.
Develop nutrition/ Health activity work plans based on the program's annual work plan and implement activities promptly
Design and deliver in-house capacity training for nutrition/ Health staff of SHI.
Participate in relevant coordination forums.
Represent SHI nutrition and Health programming in donor meetings.
Delivers timely quality reporting on project activities, including findings regarding the impact on individuals and communities.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Food science/Technology or other related courses with more than 5 years’ experience in nutrition program management can also apply.
Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions;
Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment;
Excellent report writing skills and proficient in Microsoft Office software Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word);
Fluency in Hausa preferably;
