Job Title: Head, Shared Service Process Audit

About the job
Reporting to the Divisional Head, Business Processes & Shared Services Audit, the Head, Shared Service Process Audit will execute individual assurance, consulting, and other internal audit engagements as part of the annual riskbased internal audit plan relating to Shared service processes.
This will include developing internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures, and preparing internal audit reports that reflect results of work performed for reviews and approvals by Divisional Head, Business Processes & Finance Audit.
The role requires requisite internal audit competencies with appreciable knowledge of the International Standard for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and other global standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Perform assurance and consulting engagements within Shared Services processes, including other special and management requests.
Conduct regular reviews of the design and operating effectiveness of Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
Perform and supervise the full audit cycle, including the effectiveness of risk management and internal controls over operational efficiency, financial reliability, and compliance with applicable directives and regulations within Shared Services processes.
Lead and perform assurance and consulting engagements within Interswitch subsidiaries and provide value-adding recommendations to improve the control environment.
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of Shared Services processes, document them, and regularly review the audit universe to reflect current realities.
Carry out first-level reviews of engagements performed within Shared Services to ensure audit scope adequacy, test performance, and the accuracy of conclusions.
Coordinate internal audit team members (both in-house and outsourced) in the planning, execution, and reporting of Shared Services audit engagements.
Collaborate with other team members when assigned to coordinate audits, ensuring outputs align with internal audit methodology, and report to the Divisional Head, Business Processes & Finance Audit.
Prepare work programs for assigned audits within Shared Services and other necessary documentation to support the engagement.
Communicate audit results, findings, and recommendations through written reports and face-to-face presentations to the Divisional Head, Business Processes & Finance Audit in a timely manner.
Document audit work in line with the internal audit manual and methodology, ensuring all working papers are complete, properly referenced, and support the conclusions reached.
Follow up promptly with process owners on the remediation status of agreed management action plans for outstanding audit findings, and update the follow-up database to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Provide timely and comprehensive feedback to the Divisional Head, Business Processes & Finance Audit, on the implementation of assigned engagements.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Divisional Head, Business Processes & Finance Audit.
Use Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques (CAAT) tools to deliver efficient audit projects.
Maintain all Interswitch and professional ethical standards, ensuring audit activities comply with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) and the IIA Code of Ethics.
Experience and Qualifications Required
First degree in a relevant field in Accounting, Business, Economics, IT, and/or Social Science
ACA, ACCA, or other professional accounting qualifications required
CIA, CISA, and related audit qualification added advantage
7 to 9 years relevant experience in internal &/or external auditing and compliance monitoring in a reputable organisation, with at least 3 years managing others in a supervisory position
Demonstrable understanding & application of internal control concepts to plan, perform, manage and report evaluations of various business processes
Knowledge of technical accounting and IFRS
Application of best practice audit standards, latest audit techniques, and tools
Prior experience working in Fintech or payment services firm, Big 4 professional service firm, banking or other financial services firm, technology firms, etc., will be an advantage
Experience in data analytics and continuous auditing
Demonstrable knowledge of fraud schemes and indicators.
