Job Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to develop, manage and support on projects, partnerships, and activities to deliver a creative economy ecosystem development strategy.
The selected candidate will support the delivery of a Creative Economy portfolio of programmes working with sector stakeholders, communities, and teams.
You will also manage various stakeholders across Africa and internationally and contribute to the overall objectives of the practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Support:
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of creative economy projects and activities.
Support the day-to-day management of specific programmes (e.g., incubators, accelerators, workshops), ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
Contribute to research and insight gathering across key creative economy sectors.
Provide administrative and logistical support for programme implementation, including organising meetings, managing documentation, and coordinating events.
Track project milestones and prepare draft reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Work closely with the Programme Manager and team leads to ensure smooth delivery of activities.
Stakeholder Engagement and Management:
Maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders, including programme participants, partners, and collaborators.
Support outreach and engagement efforts with creative communities across Africa.
Support in organising and documenting meetings, interviews, and stakeholder interactions.
Curate relevant activities, stakeholders, events, and workshops to drive innovation in the selected thematic areas.
Communications & Reporting:
Coordinate with the Communications and Community Units to design and ensure timely and accurate promotion of programmes and activities.
Provide relevant content (e.g., summaries, updates, profiles) for newsletters, blogs, and social media platforms.
Assist with collecting and synthesising data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Key Skills and Compentencies
Knowledge of how Creative Economy Value Chains work and current barriers and opportunities within this in an African content
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
At least 4-5 years of experience designing, leading/supporting delivery of incubation,acceleration or capacity-building programmes focused on artistic, entrepreneurship, digital or technical skills within the Creative Economy in Africa.
Programme design and related tools, for example, relating to financial management and reporting, evaluation, contract management etc
Project Management qualification is desirable.
Experience supporting ecosystem development either in a specific sector within or across the Creative Economy in a formal /corporate context.
Strong networks across at least one major African market for Creative Economy, although experience across multiple markets is preferred.
Experience working with international donors/ on international donor-funded projects.
Relationship management with senior stakeholders, partners and donors from various sectors.
Creativity skills in developing programs and methods for engaging an audience toward the success of the practice.
