Sahei Gender Development Initiative, was formally known and called Sanitation and hygiene education initiative (SGDI). The organization is a Nigerian non-governmental and not-for-profit making organization incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in November 2014. It is an organization that facilitates, advocates, and raises awareness for access to improved services among vulnerable individuals. The organization focuses in the areas of WASH, Protection/GBV, Empowerment/livelihood, Waste Management, Health/Nutrition, Climate Change and Peace Building. The organization has experienced staff that are equipped with knowledge, skills to response when the need arises. The organizations staff can work all over the liberated LGAs of Borno State.
The organization was established to promote well-being of individuals and alleviate the suffering of conflict affected people and the vulnerable groups of people in Northeastern Nigeria. In pursuit of its mission, the Organization works with partners to execute programs aimed at improving the livelihood and living standards of vulnerable children, women and girls, men, widows, internally displaced persons, and persons living with disabilities.

Job Title: Cash Based Transfer (CBT) Officer
Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Key Responsibilities
Apply technical knowledge and skills to implement and/or assist in community delivery of cash-based/in-kind programs.
Promptly identify and recommend solutions to cash-based technical issues.
Participate on the on-job training on how the e-voucher system works, how to handle data, and accurately use the e- devices (e-voucher reader, Smartphone with application, and e-voucher) including the handover process with the vendors.
Participate on the on-job training on GFD and beneficiaries’ rationing/entitlement.
Participate in the process of identifying beneficiary communities/targeting based on robust and participatory criteria if any.
Ensure appropriate community messages are transferred to clients, local government partners, vendors, non-clients, and other key actors
Ensure training/re-orientation of the vendor staff e-voucher system (how it works, synchronization, handling including safe keeping of e-devices) until handover of the e-devices to SGDI
Ensure the conduct of beneficiary feedback and response mechanism (BFRM) activities are undertaken and serve field focal point for handling the BFRM database.
Closely work with all SGDI field teams in general and with other on how to integrate and align cash programming with other activities and priorities.
Fully align with SGDI safety and security procedures and provide support to security monitoring and assessments to ensure a safe and secure environment for program implementation
Coordinate the cash transfer assistant.
Project Monitoring and Reporting:
Assist in the collection of data, conduct of assessments (needs, market, risks, and security), and provide input for concept note/ proposal development for cash transfer project in collaboration with the local community structures and community members
Monitor progress against grant work plan; promptly identify any current or potential delays.
Produce SGDI and donor reports as per set schedules (monthly, quarterly, and annually) on program activities, indicators, and achievements.
Assist his/her supervisors to ensure all monitoring activities are fully detailed, including systematic and timely data required under the grant and for SGDI M&E purposes.
Capacity Building and Coaching:
Aware the communities and partners to consider cash response as one modality at the appropriate situations:
Capacitate the community facilitators, staff under his/her supervisee, and others (if any) on cash Transfer Programming.
Support and mentor the field staff on GFDP through CBT & In-kind modalities.
Support and mentor the vendors to meet the humanitarian principles during Cash Response program/facilitating the payment to the beneficiaries.
Coordination and Representation:
Participate on seasonal and FSS cluster assessments and share findings.
Work integrating with SGDI finance, procurement, and admin/HR staff to process Purchase Requests, and Payments.
Represent the SGDI in coordination meetings at different levels like LGA, community, and wards.
Build very good team sprit with SGDI program and supporting staff at field and at office.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop SGDI programs.
Contribute to SGDI’s resource mobilization efforts
Qualification and relevant Experience
University Degree/HND in any of the following disciplines: Agricultural Economics or related field.
At least 3 years of experience in connection with project management in the food security and/or livelihood sector, and preferably in a non-governmental organization of humanitarian and international character
Previous experience in food distribution supervisory field is preferable
Ability to write reports
Able to work outside of regular working hours as required, including evenings and weekends if required.
A good experience in supervision is required.
Experience with survey methodologies, nutrition assessment and relevant data analysis
Fluency in English and Hausa
Desired:
3 years of progressively responsible experience in the food security and/or livelihood sector of NGO and/or directly related area.
Experience in a development and/or humanitarian organization.
Strong knowledge of Nutrition and/or Public Health
Advanced computer skills at least intermediate skills in windows-based word processing, spreadsheet and nutrition/public health software.
Ability to establish priorities, plan, coordinate and organize own work plan.
Resourcefulness, initiative, maturity, tact, and advocacy skills.
Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and public speaking skills.
Understanding of political dynamics, and foreign policy decision-making procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and work without direction
