Job Title: Head of Investment and Trade Facilitation - W2A Capital Lead (Pre-Incorporation)

Job Summary
As the Head of Investment and Trade Facilitation - W2A Capital Lead (Pre-Incorporation), you will lead investor engagement, capital mobilization, and the setup of W2A Capital.
Your role is critical in turning investor interest into fundable deals, securing donor commitments, and designing the fund’s governance and operational structure, ultimately positioning you to become the Founding Managing Director.
This is a unique opportunity to build and lead Africa’s next major impact investment platform.
Grow and manage the W2A Investors Club, converting interest into real capital commitments
Lead transaction structuring and closure across agriculture, energy, solid minerals, and maritime sectors
Match investor interests with verified, investment-ready pipelines
Capital Mobilisation & Donor Relations:
Build relationships with donors, DFIs, philanthropic partners, and other capital providers
Design and implement blended finance models that effectively combine diaspora, donor, and commercial capital
Represent W2A credibly at donor roundtables, investor forums, and high-level convenings
Trade & Investment Alignment:
Ensure that trade facilitation events lead to practical investment outcomes
Use events and convenings as pipelines for credible deals, not just networking
W2A Capital Pre-Incorporation:
Lead the legal, regulatory, and governance setup of W2A Capital
Establish investment committees, advisory boards, and risk/compliance systems
Draft fund documents, investment policies, and onboarding protocols for anchor investors
Internal Reporting & Leadership:
Report to the Founder & CEO and Senior Lead, Strategic Finance & Group Operations on success, progress and bottlenecks.
Serve as a strategic bridge between the organisation's vision, its partners, and transaction-level realities
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in investment banking, development finance, blended finance, or fund structuring
Proven ability to secure partnerships with donors, DFIs
Deep understanding of fund governance, compliance, and investment operations
Strong experience with transaction structuring and capital mobilisation in emerging markets
Familiarity with investment committee design, governance systems, and fund launch processes
Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
Passion for using capital and trade as tools for sustainable development in Africa
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to represent W2A externally.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive N400,000 - N500,000 Monthly (Commensurate with Experience)
