We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Abuja

Position Overview

• The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and well-versed in accounting principles and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping & Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Process vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and payments.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Reconcile customer and vendor accounts regularly.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor expenditures against budget and report variances.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• File tax returns and statutory remittances (VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.) accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional Certification: ACA, ACCA (or in active pursuit) is an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proximity to Maitama would be an added advantage
