Job Title: National Supervisor - Qualitative Survey
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Purpose of Assignment
The senior supervisors will guide, monitor and supervise all data supervisors during data collection activities. The national supervisor will ensure compliance of the state level data supervisors to all malaria consortium guidelines and safeguarding policies.
Review to certify that data collected by the state level personnel are accurate and of good quality.
Collect and submit all issued project equipment (DC voice recorders) provided by Malaria Consortium to the field officers.
The senior supervisor will ensure the data supervisors comply with responsible conduct of research, comply with the MMA research methodology and submit accurate state level reports in a timely manner.
Scope of Work
Participate in capacity building activity of supervisors and enumerators.
Participate in pretesting (Pilot testing of tools), discussion of data collection tools, role plays, and field simulation exercises).
Provide timely support, mentorship and act as first line of contact for state level supervisors on the MMA project.
Provide support in addressing any challenge relating to data supervision at the state levels and escalate challenges to MC research specialist as deemed appropriate.
The senior supervisor will oversee 19 state supervisors during the qualitative survey on the MMA survey.
Monitor the supervisors using the MC approved checklist to assess the performance of state level data supervisors on the qualitative survey across the study sites
in-depth, key informant interviews and focus group discussions
Collate the reports of all states level supervisors for submission to the research specialist after ensuring their quality and accuracy.
Provide weekly and end of data collection report highlighting the state specific community entry uniqueness or outliers, data collection process, key challenges, lessons learn and recommendations to MC research Specialist.
Deliverables:
Submit a consolidated report for all 6 project states activity implementation processes and results.
Collate the timesheets of the data supervisor and data officer for submission
Ensure all supervisors use appropriate reporting to document and submit quality state reports in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with responsible conduct of field data collection plan, sample sizes, and data integrity.
Submission of daily attendance to the research specialist.
Final consultancy report
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Statistics, Public Health or any medical related field with at least 8 years’ experience post master’s degree with remarkable experience in qualitative survey (FGD, KII, and IDIs). Any other advanced degree will be an added advantage.
Strong evidence of prior participation in a similar public health research, field activities and data collection activities.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office package with good report writing skills.
Residency within the project implementation state and availability for the duration of the MMA survey exercise.
Ability to clearly synthesize and present findings, draw practical conclusions, make recommendations and to prepare well-written reports in a timely manner
Experience in leading evaluations, surveys, and analysis is highly desirable.
Demonstrated report writing skills for quantitative survey.
Candidate must not be a current employee of any government ministry or agency as at the time of recruitment.
Familiarity with the use of android device for data collection.
Working knowledge of the local language of the state, residency within the state and proficiency in spoken and written English Language.
Excellent time management, organizational and report writing skills.
