We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 1 Teacher to join our teaching team.
This role is ideal for a professional who is committed to academic excellence and nurturing the social, emotional, and intellectual development of young learners.
The ideal candidate will embrace a child-centered approach and support students as they build foundational skills and confidence for future learning.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies in line with curriculum standards and Montessori-aligned principles.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, respected, and valued.
Assess student learning and progress through observations, assignments, and assessments; provide regular feedback and support.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student growth and classroom activities.
Incorporate hands-on activities and learning materials to make abstract concepts tangible and relatable.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary learning experiences and school-wide events.
Participate in ongoing professional development and embrace innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant field.
Minimum 1–2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a lower elementary or early primary setting.
Understanding of or willingness to learn Montessori educational philosophy.
Passion for working with children and helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to design creative and effective learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles.
Commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective teaching practice.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
The role requires active engagement with children — standing, walking, bending, and sitting on the floor as needed.
Typical 8-hour workday within a classroom setting; occasional involvement in weekend or evening school events may be required.
