They are looking to hire the services of a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to oversee our company’s financial operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights.
Must possess strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and relevant professional qualifications such as ICAN or ACCA. Join our team and play a key role in shaping our financial success.
Key Responsibilities
Deeply involved in the financial and cost accounting for individual properties, portfolios, and development projects. This includes detailed tracking of property-level revenues (rent, service charges), operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
Ensures accurate billing, collection, and recognition of rental income, and meticulously manages and monitors costs for development projects, including cost-to-complete analysis.
Focuses on key real estate metrics like NOI, Cap Rates, and ROI for properties. Supports valuations.
Crucial for preparing investor reports, managing capital calls and distributions, and ensuring compliance with specific loan covenants related to property financing.
High proficiency in real estate accounting and property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage) is paramount.
Works closely with property management, asset management, and development teams, translating operational realities into financial reports.
Responsible for the entire accounting function, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all financial data and records.
Oversees the preparation of all financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) for the entire organization, adhering to GAAP/IFRS for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensures adherence to all accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements. Develops and maintains robust internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud. Manages audits.
Leads the organization-wide budgeting process and prepares financial forecasts to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
Manages, mentors, and develops the entire accounting department staff.
Oversees and improves accounting systems and processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory).
Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent.
ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are also highly valued.
Skills:
Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards.
Understanding of corporate taxes, VAT, and other tax laws.
Experience with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or Tally.
Ability to supervise accounting staff and coordinate with other departments.
High accuracy and thoroughness in financial documentation.
Strong ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies.
Effective written and verbal communication for reporting to management and stakeholders.
Ability to resolve complex financial issues efficiently.
Handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
