CcHUB is Nigeria’s first open living lab and pre-incubation space being designed to be a multi-functional, multi-purpose space where work to catalyze creative social tech ventures take place. The HUB is a place for technologists, social entrepreneurs, government, tech companies, impact investors and hackers in and around Lagos to co-create new solutions to the many social problems in Nigeria.
The role will involve working closely with a project team and coordinating project research support to ensure the successful delivery of all public healthcare-related projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Field Research and Data Collection:
Support the planning and coordination of field research activities for the Design for Health (DFH) initiatives.
Collect data through structured observations, interviews, focus groups, and surveys with study participants and key stakeholders.
Coordinate field data teams to ensure high-quality and timely data collection.
Assist in the development of research tools and frameworks for digital capacity assessments and hospital mapping, aligned with DFH’s strategic goals.
Literature and Landscape Analysis:
Conduct literature reviews, support landscape analyses, and gap assessments to inform key initiatives such as the Health Workforce Development and Patient-Centred Care assessments in Nigeria and Kenya.
Stay informed on emerging trends and methodologies in health innovation and systems research to enhance project outcomes.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Organise and manage qualitative and quantitative data from the DFH-aligned research output.
Apply appropriate analytical methods to derive actionable insights.
Contribute to the development of clear, concise, and well-structured research reports and presentations for internal and external use.
Project Implementation:
Support in delivering the M and E components of DFH projects.
Ensure the timely execution and quality delivery of assigned tasks across DFH initiatives and DFH training programmes.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL):
Lead data collection processes for tracking the progress of DFH-supported startups, using indicators like funding raised, partnerships, and impact achieved.
Facilitate data collection and coordinate the dissemination of MEL tools across DFH programmes.
Contribute to the update of the CcHUB Health/ DFH Impact Directory annually, incorporating startup and project-level outcomes.
Use data from surveys and monitoring activities to generate insights that inform continuous improvement across DFH's community and innovation practice.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain productive relationships with community members, project teams, and partner organisations involved in DFH initiatives.
Participate in consultative meetings and collaborative working groups to align stakeholder interests with project goals.
Proposal Development and Fundraising:
Regularly scan donor platforms and online sources for relevant RFPs aligned with DFH’s strategic focus.
Conduct background research and literature reviews to support the preparation of competitive funding proposals for projects.
Qualifications
Key Competencies / Qualifications:
A good understanding of English with confident language fluency, which confers strong (public) presentation and communication skills.
Previous relevant multinational experience in the public health or healthcare sector
Ability to prioritise, focus and achieve results in a fast-paced and multinational environment.
Ability to initiate and complete tasks under tight deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining attention to results and detail.
Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and work to advance the unit's mission.
Proficiency in Google Workspace is an added advantage
Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, public health, health economics, health policy, public policy, data analytics, project management, or related discipline.
