In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and reliability of an organization’s assets, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
This role involves leading a team, developing maintenance strategies, and implementing best practices to maximize asset life and minimize downtime.
Responsibilities
As an Assets Lead, you will be responsible for:
Developing and Implementing Maintenance Strategies: Creating and implementing long-term maintenance plans for various assets, ensuring they align with business goals and regulatory requirement.
Leading and Managing a Maintenance Team: Assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring the team operates effectively and efficiently.
Technical Knowledge: Should have technical expertise, particularly for compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and providing support for complex issues.
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Overseeing the execution of both preventive maintenance (scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns) and corrective maintenance (repairing equipment after a failure).
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Management of Change (MoC): Leading investigations into equipment failures and implementing processes to prevent recurrence, as well as managing changes to assets and processes.
Contractor and Supplier Management: Overseeing the work of contractors and vendors, including technical input on tenders and performance monitoring.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment condition, and performance metrics.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes and equipment performance
Requirements
What are we looking for?
A Bachelors Degree in Engineering, an MSc degree will be an advantage.
Experience: Significant experience in asset management or maintenance engineering.
At least 8-10 years of relevant asset management experience within the oil and gas/ upstream sector
Technical Expertise: Engineering Degree required. Strong technical knowledge of relevant equipment and systems (any of cranes, diesel engines, earth moving equipment, etc.). Familiar with maintenance management systems
