We are seeking a seasoned Marine Installations / Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of complex offshore installation operations.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the offshore oil & gas industry, with a strong background in the development of detailed marine and rigging procedures.
This role may suit a Project Engineer with offshore construction experience or a Master Mariner who has transitioned into engineering/project roles and is highly familiar with offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of installation procedures for marine operations including subsea structures, risers, mooring systems, umbilicals, topside modules, and floating assets.
Prepare detailed rigging plans and method statements in compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and offshore best practices.
Conduct risk assessments and HAZID/HAZOP workshops related to marine and installation activities.
Interface with marine spread providers, vessel teams, construction crews, and client representatives to ensure smooth execution of offshore campaigns.
Define equipment requirements including rigging gear, lifting appliances, deck layouts, and sea fastening arrangements.
Prepare and review installation drawings, load out plans, tow-out procedures, dynamic positioning (DP) assessments, and motion analyses.
Coordinate marine operations from planning through execution, including support during load out, transportation, and offshore installation.
Contribute to logistics planning, scheduling, interface management, and marine assurance processes.
Ensure all procedures are compliant with industry standards (IMCA, DNV, API, ISO, etc.), classification society requirements, and internal QA/HSE policies.
Support the review and red line of contractor procedures and provide technical input during project execution and close-out.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, or related discipline) OR Certificate of Competency as Master Mariner (STCW II/2) with engineering project experience
Minimum of5 years relevant experience in offshore oil & gas installation projects
Proven track record in preparing offshore installation and rigging procedures
Strong understanding of marine operations, lifting techniques, hydrodynamic forces, and vessel behavior
Familiarity with offshore construction equipment (e.g., A-frames, cranes, winches, lifting beams, subsea deployment systems)
Proficiency in MS Office and ability to read and interpret CAD drawings (experience with AutoCAD or Navisworks is an advantage)
Experience working with or supervising marine spreads such as DSVs, construction vessels, pipelay vessels, and anchor handlers.
