Job Summary
We are looking for a talented Mechanical & Hydraulics Systems Engineer with a minimum of five (5) years of industry experience to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and integration of mechanical and hydraulic systems across various offshore and onshore oil & gas facilities.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software is required. Candidates must have a strong understanding of oil and gas project execution, from concept through to commissioning.
Proficiency in French is considered an advantage, as many of our clients operate in French-speaking regions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical and hydraulic systems for offshore platforms, subsea installations, FPSOs, and topside facilities.
Prepare detailed technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams using AutoCAD and similar drafting software.
Conduct simulations and analyses using tools such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, HydraCAD, FluidSIM, or EPLAN Fluid (depending on system needs).
Select components including pumps, actuators, valves, cylinders, and other hydraulic system elements based on project specifications and functional requirements.
Prepare system layouts, P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, and bill of materials (BoM).
Perform engineering calculations related to fluid flow, pressure drops, load distribution, power requirements, etc.
Ensure designs comply with international codes and standards such as API, ISO, ASME, DNV, and IEC.
Coordinate with instrumentation, structural, electrical, and process engineering disciplines to ensure system compatibility and functionality.
Support procurement, fabrication, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
Participate in design reviews, technical audits, and HAZOP/HAZID workshops.
Maintain quality assurance and HSE compliance in all project phases.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline (Master’s degree is an advantage).
Minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems engineering in the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and exposure to other technical software such as:
Solid Works or Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling and mechanical design)
ANSYS Mechanical (FEA simulations)
HydraCAD, EPLAN Fluid, or FluidSIM (hydraulic circuit design)
Mathcad or Engineering Equation Solver (EES) (engineering calculations)
Strong knowledge of hydraulic principles and mechanical equipment used in oil and gas applications.
Experience with rotating equipment, piping systems, and subsea or topside hydraulic control systems.
Familiarity with offshore standards and best practices related to mechanical and hydraulic systems.
French language proficiency is a plus, particularly for collaboration with Francophone clients and project stakeholders.
