We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sales Team Lead

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 3 months (Renewable based on performance)

Role Summary

  • The Sales Team Lead for Team Sparta plays a pivotal role in OnePipe’s go-to-market strategy for PayWithAccount (PWA), particularly within the education sector.
  • As the driver of field sales excellence, this individual leads a team of frontline sales representatives responsible for sourcing, engaging, and onboarding school billers.
  • The Sales Team Lead is not just a coordinator, but a field leader—leading by example through participation in sales storms, coaching representatives, and overseeing the complete onboarding funnel from lead identification through to verification readiness.
  • The role requires a combination of strategic oversight, high accountability, people leadership, and a strong understanding of compliance-driven onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Execution & Pipeline Management:

  • Design and manage a tactical field plan for school biller acquisition within assigned territories.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and weekly prospecting goals.
  • Analyze conversion patterns and redesign team strategy when necessary.

Team Coaching & Supervision:

  • Manage a team of sales representatives; track their weekly performance, identify training gaps, and lead on-the-job coaching.
  • Schedule and lead bi-weekly training sessions at the office focused on sales effectiveness, documentation hygiene, and objection handling.
  • Conduct one-on-one performance reviews with each team member monthly.

Sales Drive & Market Storms:

  • Lead weekly “market storms” – aggressive street-level brand and lead generation drives within school clusters.
  • Coordinate logistics and communications for team participation.
  • Evaluate outcomes of each storm and document insights for leadership reporting.

Onboarding Oversight:

  • Review all onboarding documentation submitted by reps before handoff to the verification (Alexis) team.
  • Resolve issues around incomplete forms, incorrect KYB data, or missing sign-offs.
  • Support reps in preparing billers for the Alexis verification calls.

Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:

  • Build relationships with school associations, zonal education boards, or group school owners to unlock large-scale onboarding opportunities.
  • Submit structured weekly reports that include pipeline summary, rep performance scores, issues escalated, and conversion trends.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience in a direct sales or business development role, with at least 1 year of experience managing a field team.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a dispersed team with performance accountability.
  • Experience working in fintech, banking agent networks, or B2B customer acquisition will be an advantage.
  • Strong reporting skills (Excel, CRM platforms, dashboards) and comfort with target-tracking tools.
  • Willingness to work from the field 70% of the time and travel within assigned zones.
