Introduction
Under the “SDG Investment Brokering for SMEs Project”, Onyx Investment Advisory Limited (OnyxIAL), in partnership with UNDP Nigeria, is organizing a comprehensive SME Capacity Building Workshop on Investment Readiness and SDG Alignment, culminating in a high-profile Investor Forum.
This initiative aims to catalyze SDG-aligned investments into high-impact Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria, with a special emphasis on supporting womenand youth-led businesses.
The workshop will develop the technical, strategic, and operational capacity of SMEs, preparing them to successfully engage investors.
The subsequent Investor Forum will facilitate one-on-one matchmaking between these investment-ready SMEs and local and international investors.
To effectively capture the essence, impact, and success stories of this pivotal event, OnyxIAL seeks to engage a highly qualified and experienced consultant or firm to provide professional photography and videography services.
Event Overview
Event Name: SME Capacity Building Workshop on Investment Readiness and SDG Alignment & Investor Forum
Duration: 5 days (Workshop) + 1 day (Investor Forum)
Anticipated Dates: August
Location: Abuja
Key Participants: Approximately 40 investment-ready SMEs (at least 50% women-led, youth-led, or disability-inclusive), 30+ local and international investors (DFIs, VCs, impact funds), SDG/ESG experts, financial analysts, legal consultants, pitch trainers, and other key stakeholders.
Workshop Objectives: Strengthen SME capacity, improve understanding of investor expectations, enhance technical skills in financial modelling and governance, train on impact measurement and ESG standards, equip for confident pitching, and prepare for integration into the SDG Investment Brokering pipeline.
Scope of Work
The selected consultant or firm will be responsible for providing comprehensive photography and videography coverage for THREE DAYS out of the six-day event, ensuring high-quality visual documentation that aligns with OnyxIAL's communication objectives.
The scope includes, but is not limited to: Pre-Event Coordination: Liaise with OnyxIAL communication team to understand specific visual requirements, key moments, and desired narratives.
Photography Coverage:
Capture high-resolution, professional images of all workshop sessions, interactive activities, group work, networking breaks, and the Investor Forum.
Focus on capturing memorable moments, participant engagement, facilitator interactions, and key speakers.
Prioritize capturing participants, particularly highlighting women-led, youth-led, and inclusive enterprises.
Capture headshots/portraits of key speakers, facilitators, and select SME participants as required.
Document the overall ambiance, branding, and logistical aspects of the event.
Videography Coverage:
Record all plenary sessions, key presentations, panel discussions, and pitching sessions during the Investor Forum.
Capture b-roll footage of the event environment, participant interactions, and workshop activities.
Conduct short, impactful video testimonials/interviews with selected SME participants, investors, and facilitators, focusing on their key takeaways, success stories, and the event's impact.
Ensure high-quality audio recording for all video content.
Post-Production:
Photography:
Professional editing, color correction, and selection of a curated set of high-quality images (at least 80 pictures per day). All photos to be delivered in high-resolution JPEG format.
Videography:
Editing: Sort and edit footage and photos according to the planning committee’s needs and specifications (as indicated in the “During event” heading).
One 59-second creative video showcasing the highlights of the event.
Produce five 59-second testimonial videos of participants involving SMEs, Investors, Government Officials, and other stakeholders present.
Send the data to the client for review, feedback, and approval.
Deliver the final products (videos and photos in soft copy) in an adequate format on an flash drive.
Delivery & Usage Rights:
All raw and edited content (photos and videos) must be delivered within 7 business days after the conclusion of the event.
Note
All pictures are just to be colour graded, as retouching and deep editing is not required.
OnyxIAL and UNDP Nigeria will retain full, perpetual, and unrestricted usage rights to all produced content for communication, reporting, advocacy, and promotional purposes across all platforms (digital, print, broadcast).
Deliverables
Daily selection of high-resolution photographs for immediate social media use (within 24 hours).
Final edited, high-resolution photographs (JPEG format, minimum 300 dpi).
All raw video footage (original camera files).
One 59-second creative video showcasing the highlights of the event.
Five 59-second testimonial videos of participants involving SMEs, Investors, Government Officials, and other stakeholders present.
Send the data to the client for review, feedback, and approval.
Deliver the final products (videos and photos in soft copy) in an adequate format on a flash drive.
Consultant / Firm Qualifications
The ideal consultant / firm should possess:
Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in professional event photography and videography, particularly for corporate events, conferences, or development sector initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to capture compelling visual narratives and human-interest stories.
Access to high-quality, professional-grade photography and videography equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting, audio recording devices, drones, if applicable).
Strong post-production capabilities and a portfolio showcasing high-quality edited work.
Understanding of development sector themes, particularly SDGs, investment, and gender/youth inclusion.
Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to dynamic event environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
References from previous clients.
Submission Requirements
Interested consultants/firms are invited to submit a comprehensive proposal, comprising the following:
Technical Proposal (Maximum 5 pages):
Understanding of the Terms of Reference and the event's objectives.
Proposed methodology and approach for photography and videography coverage.
Detailed work plan and timeline for execution and delivery.
Team composition, including CVs of key personnel (photographer(s), videographer(s), editor(s)), highlighting relevant experience.
List of equipment to be used.
Portfolio of relevant past work (links to online portfolios/videos preferred).
Financial Proposal:
Detailed breakdown of all costs, including professional fees (daily/event rate).
All costs should be quoted in Nigerian Naira (₦) and be inclusive of all applicable taxes.
Company Profile / Individual CV:
Brief overview of the firm or individual consultant, including legal registration (if applicable) and contact details.
References: Contact details for at least three (3) professional references from previous clients for similar assignments.
Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Technical Quality & Methodology (40%): Clarity of understanding, proposed approach, work plan, and quality of portfolio.
Relevant Experience & Qualifications (30%): Experience of the firm/individual and key personnel, and suitability of equipment.
Financial Competitiveness (20%): Reasonableness and clarity of the budget.
References (10%): Positive feedback from previous clients.
