Atmosfair climate and sustainability ltd is a Nigerian German social company dedicated to fighting climate change and deforestation while promoting renewable energy, decarbonization, poverty reduction and rural livelihoods.
Reflecting the challenges in Nigeria, atmosfair's core business is to set up and operate a large- scale domestic clean cook stove production and engage in innovative financing, manufacturing and sales solutions for high class, shiny and efficient Save80 stainless steel cook stoves available predominantly in the northern rural areas of Nigeria at affordable market prices.
Role Overview
As a Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in spearheding the commercial activities for our flagship product, the Save80 Clean Cook Stove.
This role is crucial in bridging the gap between sustainable technology and market demands, ultimately contributing to our mission Of combating climate change while improving lives across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement comprehensive business models, with a strong emphasis on sales through banks and microfinance institutions/organizations.
Develop innovative strategies to penetrate the market, including last-mile distribution solutions and customer financing options.
Define, execute, and monitor a structured sales strategy to drive growth and meet defined sales targets.
Lead 32B and B2C sales efforts, applying proven experience to deliver measurable results.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients through proactive account management and a customer-focused approach.
Identify, acquire, and manage local sales partners and networks.
Negotiate terms and contracts as necessary to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
Work closely with the supply chain team to understand and monitor inventory and stock management systems.
Coordinate cost-effective logistics, including the shipping and handling of stoves and components.
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure alignment with financial targets and maintain accurate reporting.
Build an understanding Of micro-credit systems and cash flow management to support financial planning and decision-making.
Exhibit a hands-on approach by managing tasks such as securing warehouse space and initiating local business partnerships.
Serve as the primary local liaison for contractors, service providers, and local authorities, or establish roles to manage these relationships effectively.
Represent atmosfair confidently in high-level discussions with governmental institutions and stakeholders.
Draw on prior experience to engage effectively with public officials and regulatory bodies.
In fulfilling these responsibilities, you will report directly to the General Manager of atmosfair Climate & Sustainability Ltd. and the management of atmosfair gGmbH, based in Berlin, Germany.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a BSc. or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, demonstrating business competence.
At least 5 years corporate B2B and B2C direct selling and sales management/relationship, management experience in related industries.
Proven track record in Business development, particularly in sales to Iow-income target groups.
Demonstrated experience working with intermediaries and associations to expand reach and ensure security.
Practical experience with micro-credits and understanding of cash flow management.
Prior experience interacting with governmental institutions and comfort in high-level discussions.
International work experience is highly desirable.
Strong affinity for numbers and business metrics, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
An ambitious and performance-driven personality with a passion for the art of selling.
Willingness to relocate to Kano state and work from there.
Deep motivation to contribute to the fight against climate change.
Business-fluent English is required. Proficiency in other local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo or Fulfulde) is a significant advantage.
Ability to operate smoothly in both political and international environments.
What We Offer
Full time permanent employment (freelance contract a possibility)
A monthly salary of N2,000,000 with performance-based incentives and clear opportunities for career advancement.
Standard full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Additional hours may be required to meet production targets, including occasional weekend work. All extra hours will be appropriately compensated.
