The Quality Assurance Officer at Discovering Talents Academy (DTA) plays a critical role in ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality education and operational standards across all academic and non-academic functions.
This position is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing the effectiveness of DTA's programs and processes, ensuring alignment with the school's core mission to "create an atmosphere of fun where kids can enjoy being kids," its vision to "discover and bring out the uniqueness in every child," and the implementation of its SHRID niche (Skill Acquisition, Handwriting, Reading, Individualized Teaching, Diction).
The Quality Assurance Officer will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and upholding DTA's commitment to excellence.
Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks, policies, and procedures for all academic programs and teaching methodologies.
Conduct regular classroom observations to assess teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and adherence to individualized teaching approaches.
Monitor the consistent implementation of Nelson Handwriting and the effectiveness of reading programs designed to foster a "Love for Reading."
Evaluate the integration of Skill Acquisition programs into the curriculum and their impact on student development.
Assess the promotion of correct diction and articulate communication among staff and pupils.
Provide constructive feedback and support to teachers and department heads to enhance pedagogical practices and curriculum delivery.
Curriculum & Assessment Oversight:
Review and evaluate curriculum content and lesson plans to ensure alignment with DTA's philosophy, national standards, and the SHRID niche.
Monitor assessment practices to ensure they are fair, valid, reliable, and effectively measure student learning outcomes, including the demonstration of diverse knowledge, talents, and abilities.
Analyze assessment data to identify areas for academic improvement and inform targeted interventions.
Policy & Standard Compliance:
Ensure school policies, particularly those related to academics, student welfare, and staff conduct, are consistently understood and adhered to by all stakeholders.
Conduct regular audits of educational and operational processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
Identify gaps in policy implementation and recommend corrective actions.
Performance Monitoring & Evaluation (Staff):
Work closely with the Human Resources Officer (HRO) and department heads to monitor the effectiveness of staff performance appraisal processes, ensuring they are free, fair, and contribute to growth.
Utilize the DTA software's "Breakdown" and "History" features to identify collective training needs and track staff development initiatives.
Advise management on areas requiring professional development based on quality assurance findings.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting:
Lead initiatives for continuous improvement based on quality assurance findings, internal audits, and feedback mechanisms.
Prepare comprehensive quality assurance reports for the Head of School and management, detailing findings, recommendations, and progress on improvement plans.
Monitor the implementation of recommended improvements and evaluate their impact.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with department heads, teachers, parents, and students to gather feedback on educational quality and address concerns.
Promote a culture of quality and accountability throughout the DTA community.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Quality Management, or a related field; a Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or Quality Assurance is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of [e.g., 5-7] years of experience in an educational setting, with at least [e.g., 3] years in a quality assurance, academic oversight, or supervisory role.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of educational best practices, curriculum development, assessment methodologies, and quality management principles. Familiarity with DTA's Vision, Mission, and SHRID Niche is essential.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
Technological Proficiency: Proficient in using educational technology, school management software (e.g., DTA software for appraisals), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
