Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organization. Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency.
PUI has been operating in Nigeria since 2016, initially establishing its presence in Borno State with a field office in Maiduguri. Over the years, PUI has expanded its humanitarian response to deep-field locations, including Monguno and Pulka, and more recently to Katsina State in Northwest Nigeria.
Under the direct supervision of the Livelihood Manager, the Livelihood Supervisor is responsible for the daily implementation, supervision, and quality assurance of the intervention in line with project objectives, donor requirements, and organizational standards.
The Livelihood Supervisor will ensure that beneficiaries receive timely, conflict- sensitive, and impactful support.
The position holder will ensure that activities are responsive to community needs, meets targets, and are carried out according to best practices and donor requirements.
Priorities of the Department
The livelihood Supervisor ensures effective and timely completion of activities, delivery of quality outputs and achievement of outcomes with maximum impact for beneficiaries.
The livelihood Supervisor will ensure that no duplication of intervention in PUI respective areas and to maintain good working collaboration with other humanitarian actors including FCDO consortium members at the field level.
Contribute on the assessment processes, gathered essential information in the community to support the department in developing new project and strategy.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Implementation and Monitoring of the Activities:
Supervise the implementation of activities according to the livelihood program direction and ensure program quality standards are manintained at field level.
Ensure targeting and beneficiary selection processes are inclusive, transparent, and protection sensitive
Organize and supervise all Livelihood assessment activities pertaining to the project deliverables such as post distribution monitoring, need and market assessments , income generating activities (IGAs) and impact evaluations.
Support and follow up the business activities of s beneficiaries, and ensure documentation of best practices.
Follow up and support his/her team during E-voucher card distribution, disbursement and cash grant transfers.
Community Mobilization:
Ensures that beneficiaries and local populations understand the project’s goals and agree with the implementation process.
Actively participates to the good collaboration with the FCDO project consortium members, local leaders and community representatives for smooth implementation of the program activities.
Liaises with the local community representatives and authorities in order to identify the needs, grievances and major events that could have potential consequences for PUI and the FCDO consortium activities.
Ensures proper training and supervision of the community’s volunteers/daily workers who will take part in the project.
Follows up and supports the sensitizations for the beneficiaries or community’s members according to the identified needs.
Attend regular community meetings in the assigned area.
Communication and Reporting:
Report to Livelihood PM on the progress of activities and specific tasks assigned, problems encountered, the quality of relations with beneficiaries.
Submit daily and weekly situational reports to line manager on daily and weekly basis.
Support the M&E team in conducting market assessments, baseline/endline surveys, and post-distribution monitoring.
Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned; contribute to donor and internal reporting.
Logistics and Administration:
Ensure organizational policies, standard operation procedures, security rules and procedures are maintained by the team under his/her supervision.
Under the responsibility of the Livelihood PM, take part in logistical and administrative organization, planning, and preparation of the field team.
Ensures the follow-up and the proper use of materials and tools during on-site work by her/his team.
Supports and manages the supply of materials to the work site in collaboration with the Logistic Department.
