Pacific school was established in October, 1994 as Pacific Comprehensive College, a co-educational Day and Boarding High School. Founded as an independent School, it initially catered for the needs of primary school leavers whose parents were desirous of hard core academics. The initial emphasis was on Science and Mathematics but later incorporated all arts and social science into its curriculum.
The College was approved by the Lagos State Government and accredited by the West African Examinations Council WAEC in 1998. It later gained accreditation of the National Examinations Council NECO in 2001. Our strength lies in our emphasis on mastery of academic subjects and we pride ourselves in getting our students prepared for college and for success in the wider world of work.
Our University / College Admission rate is about 85% while 15% of our students go for professional training and vocational careers. Some 10% of our College bound students get admitted into U.S universities. In October 2007 the Pre-school and Primary School was established in response to the demand of the High School parents and the requirement of the Nigerian 6-3-3-4 system of Education. The Sixth Form programme came on board in 2010.

Job Title: House Master
Location: Akure, Ondo
Responsibilities
Pastoral Care:
Ensure the welfare, safety, and well-being of all students in the house
Act as a parental figure, providing guidance, discipline, and emotional support
Monitor students’ mental, physical, and emotional health
Handle minor illnesses or arrange medical attention when necessary
Discipline and Order:
Enforce school and house rules
Maintain discipline, good behavior, and respect among students
Deal promptly and fairly with misconduct or bullying
Serve as a role model in character and leadership
Supervision:
Supervise students during wake-up, prep, meals, lights out, and general house routines
Monitor cleanliness and personal hygiene
Ensure that students keep their rooms and the house environment tidy
Conduct regular inspections of dormitories and facilities
Academic Support:
Supervise prep time (study hours) and encourage good study habits
Liaise with subject teachers to support students’ academic progress
Monitor homework completion and academic performance
Encourage participation in academic and extracurricular activities
Communication and Liaison:
Serve as a link between students, school management, and parents
Communicate regularly with parents about students’ progress or issues
Report serious concerns to the school principal or boarding coordinator
Leadership and Mentorship:
Promote teamwork, unity, and a strong sense of house identity
Encourage participation in house competitions and events (sports, debates, etc.)
Mentor students in life skills, morals, and values
Support the development of leadership skills in prefects or senior students
Emergency Management:
Respond to emergencies such as illness, fire drills, or disciplinary crises
Ensure that all students are accounted for during roll calls and emergencies
Maintain accurate records of attendance and incidents
Record Keeping:
Keep records of student behavior, achievements, punishments, and health issues
Maintain students’ personal files and incident reports
Role in the School Community:
Attend staff meetings and house-related school events
Coordinate with other housemasters/mistresses for inter-house activities
Help implement school policies within the boarding house
Custodianship:
Ensure the boarding house facilities are well maintained
Report damages or needs to school authorities
Monitor utilities and reduce wastage.
Requirements
