Job Summary
The Finance Officer plays a key role in the financial management of Reach-Out with Health Awareness Initiative (ROHAI).
The ideal candidate will oversee financial planning, budget management, accounting operations, compliance, and reporting.
This position requires strong attention to detail, a solid grasp of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.
The Finance Officer will work closely with the Executive Management, Program Team, and donors to ensure transparency, accountability, and accuracy in all financial matters.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Support the development of organizational and project budgets, ensuring alignment with funding requirements and donor expectations.
Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations and donor policies.
Monitor cash flow and ensure timely disbursement of funds.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and documentation.
Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions and taxes.
Support the development of financial policies and procedures.
Liaise with banks, regulatory agencies, and other financial partners.
Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA (part or full qualification) is a strong advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a nonprofit or development organization.
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with donor-funded projects and reporting will be an added advantage.
Technology Capability:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
Knowledge of audit processes and donor compliance standards
Familiarity with online banking platforms
Knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis tools
