Summary
As Strategic Business Development Manager, you will identify long-term growth opportunities through targeted partnerships, market analysis, and strategic initiatives, with the goal of sustainably strengthening Julius Berger Nigeria Plc’s competitive position.
Responsibilities
Lead strategic business development projects for Julius Berger Nigeria Plc
Identify, understand, and analyze new markets, customer segments, opportunities, and potentials
Prepare and implement market entry strategies based on market analysis
Lead negotiations and transactions related to new business, mergers, and acquisitions
Ensure consideration of legal and regulatory aspects during negotiations through close coordination with internal departments and business partners
Evaluate corporate development opportunities through due diligence, financial analysis, and monitoring of strategic initiatives
Build sales networks and expand B2B client base
Conduct systematic competitive analysis to support long-term strategic planning
Assess profitability calculations and quality analyses
Plan and implement business processes and optimization strategies on a project basis
Manage and control business risks, and report on risk factors
Prepare reports and presentations, and communicate them to management
Attend industry and networking events to promote business development and identify niche markets
Requirements
Master’s degree in Business, Management & Administration, or Industrial Engineering
12 years of professional experience in a similar role with proven success in long-term business development and client relationship building
Experience working in international teams and markets
Strong strategic and analytical skills, including financial and business analysis
Knowledge of due diligence and risk assessment
Competence in change management and problem-solving
Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks
Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills
Advanced project management experience
Assertiveness and strong negotiation skills
Customer-oriented mindset, professional appearance, and willingness to travel
Native German speaker, with excellent English skills (C1)
Strong networking and stakeholder management abilities
Familiarity with legal/regulatory frameworks across different jurisdictions
