Festival Hotel is a 4 star first class hotel with 471 rooms made up of classic, deluxe rooms and suites. The hotel is located in an expansive ground in a fantastic location with a serene atmosphere as well as a safe and secure environment. It offers facilities such as adult and children swimming pool, exotic tropicalised garden, conferencing and private function facilities, modern and well equipped table tennis and twin state of art squash court, well equipped state of art gym, jogging tracks, sauna and steam bath facilities. It has an expansive car park,excellent food and bevrage facilities with 2 restaurants offering local and international cuisine, in housing laundry and dry cleaning facilities, exotic art stands and an in house clinic. It also has gifts shops,a shopping mall and a cinema in the premises.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Butcher

Location: Festac, Amuwo Odofin - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Meat Preparation & Processing:

• Cut, trim, debone, grind, and portion meat and poultry according to recipe or customer specifications.
• Prepare meat cuts and marinate products as needed for different outlets (restaurants, banquets, buffets, etc.).
• Ensure meat is appropriately stored, labeled, and rotated to maintain freshness (FIFO method).

Stock Management:

• Monitor inventory of meat and related supplies.
• Assist in ordering meat and maintaining stock levels based on kitchen needs.
• Inspect deliveries to ensure quality, temperature control, and compliance with health regulations.

Hygiene & Food Safety:

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the butchery station, tools, and cold storage areas.
• Follow all food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP practices).
• Dispose of waste and by-products according to kitchen policies.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with chefs to understand daily meat requirements and special menus.
• Advise on portion control and meat yields to help reduce waste and control food costs.
• Assist with menu planning by providing input on availability and cuts.

Equipment Handling:

• Safely operate butchery equipment such as bandsaws, slicers, grinders, and knives.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working condition and report faults for maintenance.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess an FSLC / OND qualification with 3 - 5 years work experience.

Salary
N50,000 - N60,000 monthly.
