Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Kano
Purpose of the position
The Operations Unit provides operational support across departments to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of eHA’s infrastructure and core services.
It plays a critical role in operational planning and cross-functional coordination—directly supporting the organization's mission to deliver high-quality health programs and services.
The Manager, Operations, provides strategic oversight and technical leadership for eHealth Africa’s operational infrastructure, ensuring scalable and efficient systems that support the organization’s programs and services.
S/he is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing operational frameworks that integrate facilities, logistics, engineering, and security functions.
The Manager ensures operational readiness, compliance, and cost-effectiveness while fostering cross-departmental collaboration to meet evolving organizational needs.
What you’ll do
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, other duties may be assigned:
Design, implement, and monitor integrated operational frameworks that align facilities, engineering, logistics, and security systems with organizational goals.
Ensure operational systems meet performance benchmarks and comply with health, safety, and regulatory standards, including donor and statutory requirements.
Develop and execute strategies to enhance cost-effectiveness, scalability, and service reliability across all operational domains.
Monitor infrastructure capacity and performance, providing data-driven recommendations for upgrades, risk mitigation, and operational enhancements.
Collaborate with program managers, engineering teams, and other units to ensure operational alignment with programmatic and strategic priorities.
Advise senior leadership on infrastructure planning, operational risks, and resource allocation, contributing to long-term sustainability and resilience.
Maintain effective communication with vendors, contractors, and service providers, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with service-level agreements.
Build and mentor operational teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all sites.
Ensure facilities and systems are functional, well-maintained, and compliant with building codes, environmental standards, and occupational health regulations.
Oversee logistics, asset management, and physical security operations, ensuring efficient workflows and safeguarding organizational resources.
Monitor implementation of automation tools, smart systems, and energy-efficient technologies, driving innovation and improved service delivery.
Provide timely and accurate operational reports, dashboards, and analyses, supporting strategic decision-making and performance tracking.
Conduct routine reviews of operational policies and procedures, recommending updates to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or related field.
Preferably Master’s degree.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive operations management experience, including responsibility for multi-site facilities, logistics, and infrastructure role, preferably in an NGO or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated ability to design and implement operational frameworks that meet compliance and performance standards.
Certifications and Licenses: APICS, PMP certifications or the equivalent are desired.
