Job Summary
An experienced and dedicated SAP PM Senior Consultant to join Dangote SAP Delivery Center in India.
In this critical role, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle management of our SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) solutions, from detailed design and configuration to implementation, testing, and ongoing support.
You will serve as a key subject matter expert, working closely with maintenance, operations, and finance business stakeholders to translate complex asset management requirements into robust SAP PM functionalities, optimize maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and enhance overall asset performance.
The ideal candidate will possess deep functional expertise in SAP PM, a proven track record of successful project participation (including S/4HANA transitions), and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Business Requirements Analysis & Solution Design:
Collaborate extensively with maintenance, operations, production, and finance business users to understand, analyze, and document complex plant maintenance and asset management business requirements.
Translate detailed business needs into comprehensive functional specifications and design robust, scalable SAP PM solutions that align with industry best practices and internal maintenance policies.
Lead or facilitate workshops and design sessions with stakeholders to validate requirements, propose solutions, and gain consensus.
SAP PM Configuration & Customization:
Perform hands-on configuration and customization across a wide range of SAP PM functionalities, including:
Master Data: Functional Locations, Equipment, Bills of Material (BOMs) for equipment, measuring points, counters, warranties, maintenance plans (strategy, single cycle, multiple counter).
Ensure all configurations meet functional specifications, adhere to maintenance best practices, and integrate seamlessly within the SAP ecosystem.
Project Implementation & Delivery:
Actively lead or participate in all phases of the SAP PM project lifecycle (e.g., Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run), taking ownership of assigned deliverables related to plant maintenance.
Prepare detailed functional specifications for custom developments (RICEF objects: Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) and collaborate closely with ABAP developers, ensuring adherence to design and quality standards.
Oversee and support data migration activities for PM master data (e.g., functional locations, equipment, maintenance plans, task lists).
Testing & Quality Assurance:
Develop comprehensive test cases and scripts for SAP PM functionalities.
Lead and execute unit testing, support system integration testing (SIT), and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate the functionality, accuracy, and efficiency of maintenance solutions.
Identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues, defects, and discrepancies encountered during testing phases and post-go-live.
Training & Documentation:
Develop high-quality training materials and conduct expert-level training sessions for maintenance planners, technicians, and supervisors on SAP PM functionalities and reporting.
Create and maintain detailed documentation, including process flows, functional specifications, configuration guides, and user manuals.
Integration & Cross-Module Collaboration:
Possess a strong and in-depth understanding of integration points between SAP PM and other core SAP modules (e.g., SAP MM - Materials Management for spare parts, SAP FI/CO - Finance & Controlling for maintenance costs, SAP QM - Quality Management for calibration, SAP PS - Project Systems for capital projects, SAP HR for maintenance workforce management).
Collaborate effectively with other SAP functional and technical consultants to ensure seamless end-to-end business processes.
Ongoing Support & Optimization:
Provide expert Level 2/3 support for SAP PM, troubleshooting complex maintenance and system issues, and implementing timely corrective actions.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing existing processes and system usage, identifying opportunities for optimization, automation, and enhanced reporting within SAP PM (e.g., improved maintenance planning, predictive analytics integration).
Manage and prioritize complex change requests and incidents within your area of expertise, driving them to resolution.
Mentorship & Thought Leadership:
Provide mentorship, guidance, and knowledge transfer to junior PM consultants and internal support teams, fostering their professional growth.
Stay abreast of the latest SAP developments within SAP S/4HANA Asset Management and relevant industry trends in plant maintenance, reliability, and asset performance management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 8+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience as an SAP PM Consultant.
Proven experience participating in at least 2-3 full lifecycle SAP PM implementation projects or significant enhancement/rollout projects.
Deep expertise in various aspects of plant maintenance, including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance processes.
Extensive hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Asset Management is a strong advantage. Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 PM is essential.
Technical Proficiency:
Expert-level knowledge of SAP PM module configurations, master data, and business processes.
Strong understanding of integration points with MM, FI/CO, QM, and PS.
Ability to write clear, detailed, and comprehensive functional specifications for complex custom developments (RICEF objects).
Proficiency in ABAP debugging is highly desirable.
Experience with reporting and analytics tools for maintenance data (e.g., Fiori apps, SAP BW, SAC).

Preferred Qualifications:
SAP PM Certification (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate - Plant Maintenance with SAP ERP / SAP S/4HANA Asset Management).
Experience in a specific industry vertical relevant to our business .
Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
Familiarity with IoT integration for asset monitoring or predictive maintenance solutions within SAP.
Experience with SAP Fiori apps for Plant Maintenance.
