Job Summary
We seek a high-performing Chief Operations Officer (COO) to drive strategic and operational excellence across our value chain.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the company, ensuring optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams including production, logistics, procurement, quality control, maintenance, and warehouse operations to ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, technical knowledge, and hands-on execution to support company growth and operational efficiency.
Develop and implement effective operational strategies, procedures, and policies aligned with the company’s overall business goals.
Ensure smooth and cost-effective daily operations across all departments (production, logistics, procurement, etc.).
Translate business strategy into actionable operational goals and KPIs to drive performance.
Identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Production & Plant Operations:
Supervise and manage the recycling plant’s daily operations to ensure maximum productivity and quality output.
Monitor machine performance, production output, and downtime, ensuring proactive maintenance schedules are followed.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations in all plant activities.
Logistics & Supply Chain Management:
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including waste material collection, raw material handling, and finished product distribution.
Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners to optimize cost, time, and quality of service delivery.
Implement inventory control systems to manage raw materials, consumables, and finished goods.
People Management & Leadership:
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team to build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning.
Conduct performance reviews, workforce planning, and skills development for operations staff.
Maintain strong communication between departments to foster teamwork and ensure alignment across the department.
Quality Control & Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and regulatory guidelines at all levels of operations.
Monitor product quality and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Stay up to date with industry regulations, environmental standards, and government policies applicable to recycling operations.
Budgeting & Reporting:
Prepare annual operational budgets in collaboration with the finance team and monitor expenses against budget.
Analyse operational data, generate weekly/monthly reports, and present actionable insights to the MD/CEO.
Identify operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations Management, Environmental Science, or any relevant field.
Minimum of 4–6 years of proven experience in operations or plant management, preferably in recycling, manufacturing, or waste management industries.
Strong experience managing production and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of industrial health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements.
Experience with logistics, procurement, and inventory control systems.
Sound financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and deliver cost-effective solutions.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a hands-on and results-driven approach.
