Transonil Nigeria Limited, an FMCG company, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Business Development

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Planning:

• Develop and implement sales strategies and annual sales targets.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to inform strategy.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels.

Team Leadership & Management:

• Lead, coach, and supervise the sales team (regional managers, sales executives, key account officers, etc.).
• Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Provide training, motivation, and mentorship to maximize productivity and effectiveness.

Key Account & Customer Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients such as supermarkets, distributors, retailers, and hospitality businesses.
• Negotiate major deals and contracts, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Resolve escalated client issues promptly.

Market Expansion & Channel Development:

• Expand the company’s presence in new and existing territories.
• Develop and manage wholesale and retail distribution channels.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of various sales routes and channels.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

• Track sales KPIs, revenue targets, and budget forecasts.
• Prepare detailed sales reports and present them to senior management.
• Implement corrective measures for underperforming areas.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with marketing, logistics, and finance departments to align strategies and ensure smooth operations.
• Coordinate with production teams for supply chain planning and inventory management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA is an added advantage).
• Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in sales, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role, preferably within the wine, liquor, or FMCG sector.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of regional and national distribution networks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
