Job Title: Impact Evaluation Manager

Key Purpose
The Impact Evaluation Manager will drive data-driven decision-making by leading monitoring, evaluation, and analytics efforts for our agricultural and financial inclusion projects.
This role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and reporting high-quality data to improve program outcomes, while managing projects and producing clear, impactful reports for stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a curious and analytical mid-level professional with strong data analysis skills, a knack for asking the right questions to ensure effective data collection, and the ability to manage projects and communicate insights effectively.

Responsibilitie
Data Analysis and Insights:
Design Data Collection Tools: Develop and refine tools for data collection, asking strategic questions to ensure high-quality, actionable data.
Conduct Robust Analysis: Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis using tools like Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms to uncover insights for program improvement.
Ensure Data Quality: Conduct data quality checks and maintain audit-ready datasets through rigorous cleaning, validation, and organization.
Support Evaluations: Assist in coordinating baseline, midline, and end-line assessments, with opportunities to learn and apply evaluation methodologies.
Monitoring and Program Improvement:
Develop Monitoring Plans: Create straightforward monitoring plans, including selecting key indicators and tracking progress, with guidance from senior team members.
Identify Opportunities: Use data insights to identify bottlenecks and propose strategies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
Leverage Technology: Utilize mobile data collection tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, or similar) to streamline data processes and reporting.
Reporting and Communication:
Produce Clear Reports: Draft concise, impactful reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for internal teams and external stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights.
Collaborate on Impact Stories: Work with the communications team to create case studies and quarterly/yearly impact reports for publication on ThriveAgric’s platforms.
Engage Stakeholders: Communicate data-driven insights to partners and stakeholders in a clear, business-friendly manner, with support from leadership.
Share Learnings: Contribute to a learning agenda by documenting and sharing key insights to improve project outcomes.
Project Management:
Coordinate Projects: Manage data-related projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and deliver results.
Build Team Capacity: Provide training and support to colleagues on data collection and analysis best practices, fostering a data-driven culture.
Maintain Databases: Oversee project databases to ensure accurate, accessible, and secure data storage.
Grants and Partnerships:
Contribute to Partnerships: Assist in building relationships with partners by providing analytical support for research or evaluation initiatives.
Other Duties

Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics, or a social science-related field.
Master’s degree or Bachelor’s plus an advanced certificate in M&E, statistics, data analytics, or economics preferred.
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role, ideally with some exposure to project management or reporting.
Proven ability to analyse data, create visualisations, and generate actionable insights using tools like Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Experience managing small- to medium-scale projects or collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with report writing or stakeholder communication is a plus.
Exposure to agriculture, finance, or international development is beneficial but not mandatory.
Experience in utilizing gender and social inclusion-sensitive indicators and measures.
Knowledge of data analysis packages such as Excel, PowerBI, SPSS, Stata, SAS, and/or SQL, amongst others.
Experience in mobile data collection software.
Professional Membership or Registration:
Relevant professional memberships or certifications in M&E, project management, or related fields are advantageous.
Key Skills:
Demonstrated ability to perform data quality assessments, develop or refine data collection tools, and analyze data to generate actionable insights, preferably through previous experience in analytics or reporting roles.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn about monitoring and evaluation processes, with an emphasis on applying data to improve project outcomes.
Curiosity about or exposure to the agricultural, financial, or technology sectors is a plus, but not required.
Skills:
The incumbent must demonstrate the following:

Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills, including ability to query databases, sort through and clean complex data (using vlookup, table formatting, Pivot Tables, etc) and drive business decision-making.
Experience working with project management teams and other stakeholders to deliver upon business requirements.
Capability of working in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, and be able to effectively communicate technically intricate concepts/results in business terms.
Willingness to travel to project and partner locations when needed
Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Impeccable and effective writing and editing skills, able to take large concepts and communicate them succinctly and directly.
Comfort with or eagerness to learn data tools (e.g., SQL, SPSS, Stata) and mobile data collection platforms to enhance analytical capabilities.
