Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun Admission for 2015/2016 Academic Session

Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun - Centre for Safety Education is the result of the collaboration between the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, (FUPRE) and The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON). The Centre offers National Diploma (ND), Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) programmes and Certificate Courses in Safety Training and Education with a view to provide highly Industry-driven Safety Professionals for the Oil and Gas  Industry and other relevant disciplines.

Aim and Objectives
The Centre aims to provide graduates with excellent broad based training required as experts in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management in Petroleum, Power, Chemical, Transport and Allied Industries.

Admission for 2015/2016 session into National Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma in Health Environment Safety and Security (HESS) as well as short courses for Companies in Industrial Safety, Health and Security, Basic Water Survival, QA/QC,H2S & Gas Testing, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Confined Space Entry, Advance Fire Fighting, First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Environmental Waste Management, Environmental Audit, Forklift and Crane Operations, Safe Rigging and Lifting, and  Safe handling of chemicals(SHOC)/SDS is currently going on:

A.) Admission into Diploma Programme

Admission Requirement

• For Admission into the National Diploma programme candidates must have 5 credit 'O' levelpasses in Mathematics, English Language

Progamme Duration

• The programme duration for diploma (full time) programme is for 9 months

Structure of the Programme

• The programmes are structured based on the semester system. The programme shall involve field practical experience and individual project work, followed by the submission of a thesis for evaluation.

Progamme Duration

• The programme duration for the diploma programme (full-time) programme is for a period of (9) months.
  

B.) Admission into Full Time Postgraduate Diploma Programme

Admission Requirement

• Candidates for the Postgraduate Diploma programme, must be holder of the following qualifications: HND/BA/B.Sc including General HSE and HSE Level 3 Certificate in Safety
• Candidate without HSE Certificate can also apply.

Progamme Duration

• The programme duration for the full-time Postgraduate diploma programme is for a period ot Twelve (12) months.

Structure of the Programme

• The programmes are structured based on the semester system and shall involve field practical experience and individual project work, followed by the submission of a thesis for evaluation.

Award of Certificate

• Successful candidates shall be awarded Certificate at the at the end of the programme.

Admission into Master's Degree Programme

• At the end of the programme, successful candidate can use th Certificate to gain admission into Master's Degree programme

C.) Admission into Part-Time Postgraduate Diploma Programme

Admission Requirement

• Candidates for the part-time Postgraduate Diploma programme, must be holder of the following qualifications: HND/BA/B.Sc including General HSE and HSE Level 3 Certificate in Safety
• Candidate without HSE Certificate can also apply.

Progamme Duration

• The programme duration for the full-time Postgraduate diploma programme is for a period ot Twelve (18) months.

Structure of the Programme

• The programmes are structured based on the semester system and shall involve field practical experience and individual project work, followed by the submission of a thesis for evaluation.

Award of Certificate

• Successful candidates shall be awarded Certificate at the at the end of the programme.
