We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Planning Engineer
Location: Rivers
Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and scheduling and for creating the baseline for the GMC project assigned for timely project delivery
Develop detailed project schedules using industry-standard software such as CMMS, SAP.
Establish baseline schedules, including critical path identification and analysis.
Break down project scope into manageable tasks and activities.
Define work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones, deliverables, and key project dependencies.
Regularly monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect actual project status.
Conduct variance analysis to compare planned versus actual progress and identify any deviations.
Forecast completion dates based on current progress trends and propose corrective actions for any potential delays.
Develop and maintain S-curves, histograms, and other visual aids to communicate project status
Identify potential risks and constraints that may impact project schedules.
Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize schedule risks.
Participate in risk assessments and integrate mitigation plans into the overall project strategy.
Collaborate with project managers, maintenance supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to align schedules and ensure seamless execution of all project activities
Act as a central point of contact for all planning and scheduling-related communications.
Facilitate regular project meetings to review schedules, progress, risks, and action plans.
Collaborate with resource managers to ensure adequate allocation and optimization of personnel, equipment, and materials.
Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans to prevent over- or under-allocation.
Plan and forecast resource needs for upcoming project phases.
Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future project performance
Work closely with the cost control team to track project budgets and expenditures.
Analyze the financial impact of schedule changes and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Ensure alignment between project schedules and financial forecasts
Ensure that all project schedules comply with company policies, client requirements, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all planning and scheduling documents.
Prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders
Stay informed of industry best practices and advancements in project planning technologies.
Educational Qualification
A Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Mechanical or Construction Engineering or a related field.
7+ years’ experience in the same or related role.
Maintaining a current understanding of industry practices, standards, and client needs
