Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Institutional Sales Manager to lead our business growth within Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as state government institutions.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing high-value government contracts and a deep understanding of Nigeria’s public procurement process (BPP).
This role requires strategic networking, solution selling, and the ability to navigate complex decision-making structures within government to drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Government Business Development:
Identify and pursue high-value sales opportunities with MDAs and state governments.
Develop and maintain strong executive-level relationships with decision-makers and influencers.
Map and monitor government projects, budgets, and tender announcements to proactively position the company.
Public Procurement & Tender Management:
Lead tender preparation, bid submission, and contract negotiation in line with BPP regulations.
Ensure proposals are competitive, compliant, and strategically positioned to win.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public procurement laws, policies, and sector-specific regulations.
Strategic Sales Execution:
Achieve and exceed annual sales and revenue targets in the government sector.
Coordinate with technical, finance, and legal teams to align solutions with government needs.
Present tailored business cases to justify investment in our solutions.
Market Intelligence & Relationship Building:
Monitor political, economic, and policy developments that affect procurement and project opportunities.
Represent the company at government forums, industry conferences, and policy discussions.
Build alliances with relevant associations, think tanks, and public sector advisors.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
7–10+ years in institutional/government sales, with a proven track record of closing large-scale contracts.
Deep understanding of Nigeria’s public procurement process and BPP compliance requirements.
Established network of contacts in Federal MDAs and/or state governments.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
