Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Summary
The Finance Officer will support the effective and transparent management of the organisation’s financial resources, ensuring the proper utilisation of funds from donors, sponsors, and other sources.
Working closely with the Finance Lead, the role will implement and maintain financial systems, processes, and controls that strengthen budgeting, financial reporting, analysis, and compliance.
By ensuring accuracy, accountability, and adherence to donor and statutory requirements, the Finance Officer will contribute to the organisation’s mission of advancing women’s advocacy, gender equity, and political inclusion.
Prepare, analyse, and present accurate and timely financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
Maintain proper accounting records, ledgers, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Monitor the organization’s financial transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory regulations.
Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Collaborate with the Finance Lead on annual and project-based budgeting and financial planning.
Monitor budget utilization and provide variance analysis with recommendations for corrective actions.
Contribute to financial modelling and projections to support decision-making.
Compliance & Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with tax laws, including remittance of taxes and statutory contributions.
Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of required documentation and implementation of audit recommendations.
Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process payment requests, requisitions, and invoices in an accurate and timely manner.
Monitor staff advances, ensure timely retirements, and reconcile accounts.
Ensure proper filing and documentation of all financial transactions for audit readiness.
Operational Support:
Assist in the financial review of funding proposals and provide relevant financial data to support resource mobilization efforts.
Provide technical support to programme teams on financial processes and compliance requirements.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in finance or accounting, preferably within an NGO, civic-tech, or social impact organization.
ACA certification (required).
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and digital tools (Excel, Google Workspace).
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and documentation ability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling financial information.
Work Conditions:
Hybrid role (combination of remote and in-office work).
Salary
N350,000 - N400,000 / Month.
