Job Title: Compliance and Internal Audit Officer

Location: Central Area, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite

Job Description

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance & Internal Audit Officer with a strong foundation in accounting and regulatory compliance.
• This role will ensure that the company operates in adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and industry best practices.
• The ideal candidate will have a passion for governance, risk management, and operational excellence, with the ability to identify control gaps and recommend practical solutions.

Role & Responsibilities
The individual in this role will:

• Develop, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency.
• Conduct periodic internal audits to evaluate compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company policies.
• Prepare and present audit reports with actionable recommendations to management.
• Review financial records and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines, and ensure timely implementation of compliance measures.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide guidance on risk mitigation and control measures.
• Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required).
• 2 - 4 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and statutory requirements.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or financial services is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

Skills and Attitude:

• Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years in internal audit or compliance roles.
• Previous exposure to regulatory audits and reporting is preferred.

Salary Range
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly.
