Job Summary
The Business Manager will oversee the daily business operations, strategic planning, and financial performance of the company, ensuring sustainable growth in the electrical and renewable energy sector.
This role requires strong leadership, business development skills, and a solid understanding of engineering services, particularly in power systems, electrical infrastructure, and renewable energy solutions such as solar, wind, and hybrid systems.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Business Growth:
Develop and implement business strategies to increase revenue, market share, and profitability.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the electrical and renewable energy sectors.
Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential clients.
Operations Management:
Oversee the company’s day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and high-quality service delivery.
Collaborate with the engineering and project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
Implement operational processes and performance standards to improve productivity.
Financial Management:
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
Monitor expenses and revenue to ensure financial targets are met.
Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and cost-control measures.
Business Development & Client Relations:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and strategic partners.
Prepare and deliver proposals, bids, and presentations to potential clients.
Ensure excellent customer service and resolve client issues promptly.
Team Leadership & People Management:
Lead, motivate, and develop staff to achieve business objectives.
Ensure continuous training and development of the sales, operations, and support teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and teamwork.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all business operations comply with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Stay informed on government policies, renewable energy regulations, and environmental standards.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
5–7 years’ experience in a managerial role, preferably in the electrical engineering or renewable energy industry.
Proven track record in business development, sales, and operational management.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Excellent financial and analytical skills.
In-depth understanding of electrical systems, renewable energy solutions, and project management.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Salary
N300,000 - N350,000 per month.
