Job Title: Storekeeper

Locations: Abuja (FCT), Kwara and Lagos

Job Summary

• The storekeeper is responsible for the efficient management, storage, and issuance of construction materials, tools, and equipment on-site.
• This role ensures accurate inventory control, timely distribution of materials to support ongoing projects, and strict adherence to company procurement and safety policies.
• The storekeeper will maintain organised storage areas, keep detailed records of stock movement, and work closely with the procurement and project teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of all materials, tools, and equipment received, stored, and issued.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile with inventory records.
• Ensure proper labelling and storage of all items to prevent damage or loss. Inspect deliveries to ensure quantity, quality, and specification compliance.
• Record and update goods received and issued in the inventory system.
• Coordinate timely issuance of materials to site teams based on approved requests.
• Monitor stock levels and notify the procurement team when replenishment is required.
• Implement first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures to minimise wastage.
• Maintain proper filing of delivery notes, requisitions, and inventory reports.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management review.
• Adhere to company policies, procurement guidelines, and safety regulations.
• Ensure storage areas are clean, organised, and free from hazards.
• Liaise with procurement, project managers, and site supervisors to ensure smooth material flow.
• Report discrepancies or damaged goods immediately for prompt resolution.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of an OND or equivalent qualification in store management, supply chain, business administration, or a related field (HND/Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage).
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience as a storekeeper, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, stock control, and warehouse procedures.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
• Good understanding of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading and prolonged standing.
• Commitment to safety standards and procedures.
