Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Power Inverter System Engineer to join our Real Estate Operations & Maintenance team.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar power systems, with a specific focus on inverters.
This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable and efficient performance of solar installations across our portfolio of commercial and residential properties.
The engineer will be responsible for leading all operations, executing a comprehensive Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule, and responding to technical issues to maximize system uptime and energy yield.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all solar power systems, including photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, batteries, and monitoring equipment across multiple real estate locations.
Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM): Develop and execute a detailed monthly PPM schedule. This includes, but is not limited to: Inspecting and cleaning solar panels to maintain optimal performance, performing visual and technical inspections of inverters for signs of wear, damage, or error codes, checking all electrical connections for corrosion, loose terminals, or signs of overheating, verifying the proper function of cooling fans and air filters on inverter units, etc.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with solar inverters and other system components.
Performance Tracking: Track system performance, identify faults, and generate monthly performance reports.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with external service providers and OEMs for warranty claims, major repairs, and specialized maintenance activities.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are conducted in strict adherence to safety protocols, industry standards, and local electrical codes
Documentation: Maintain an up-to-date logbook of all system faults, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in the operations, maintenance, and engineering of solar PV systems.
Proven expertise in the function, troubleshooting, and repair of various types of solar inverters (e.g., string inverters, central inverters).
Solid understanding of electrical principles, single-line diagrams, and circuit design related to PV systems.
Familiarity with remote monitoring tools and software (e.g., SCADA, proprietary monitoring platforms).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical reporting and coordinating with stakeholders.
Good use of Microsoft applications, most especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word for reports and presentations
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and locations effectively
