Our mission encompasses providing pro bono legal services to pre-trial detainees, ensuring equal access to quality education for disadvantaged children, rehabilitation and psychosocial support to Torture and SGBV survivors and contributing to the reduction of poverty, sexual and gender-based violence in Nigeria. Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Partnership Development & Donor Engagement is a key leadership role responsible for building strategic partnerships, engaging donors, and securing funding to support justice-sector reform.
As part of the senior leadership team, the role aligns external relationships with the organization's mission in access to justice and human rights.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in justice programming, fundraising, and policy advocacy, while also supporting program design, staff mentoring, and internal systems for accountability and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Cultivate and manage relationships with donors, embassies, UN agencies, foundations, and INGOs.
Lead fundraising efforts, including proposal writing, concept notes, and donor reporting.
Represent the Foundation at national and international forums.
Strategic Leadership
Shape organizational strategy on access to justice and systemic reform.
Ensure all partnerships align with our mission and advocacy priorities.
Draft policy briefs, advocacy papers, and external communications to influence reform.
Programmatic Support:
Collaborate with program teams to design and implement justice-sector initiatives.
Ensure compliance with donor requirements and alignment with community needs.
Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning for access-to-justice programs.
Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and sustain coalitions with CSOs, bar associations, legal aid providers, and human rights defenders.
Facilitate dialogue between communities, justice institutions, and policymakers.
Lead the production and dissemination of advocacy materials, including documentaries and media engagement.
Internal Capacity Building:
Mentor staff on donor engagement, proposal development, and partnership management.
Strengthen systems for accountability and donor compliance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
At least 6 - 8 years’ experience in access to justice, governance, or human rights programming within a CSO/INGO or donor-funded project.
A law degree is a strong advantage; other social sciences or international development degrees are acceptable.
Proven ability in partnership building, fundraising, and donor engagement.
Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s justice sector (police, corrections, courts, and human rights institutions).
Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and policy engagement skills.
Demonstrated track record in proposal and report writing for donors.
High-level communication and interpersonal skills with cross-cultural sensitivity.
Experience in coalition building, networking, and stakeholder coordination.
Solid project management and strategic planning capacity.
Familiarity with M&E and data-driven advocacy is desirable.
Digital literacy: proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with donor portals or CRM systems is an asset.
