The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
The role supports Hoop Telecoms Limited’s financial health by handling transactions, budgeting, tax compliance, and providing accurate financial insights for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses, and reconcile bank statements.
Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance with all statutory obligations (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Corporate Tax, etc.).
Support budget preparation, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
Track and report on project costs, telecoms infrastructure expenses, and capital expenditures.
Develop internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve financial processes.
Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.
Collaborate with other departments (HR, Admin, Service Management, Sales) to provide financial insights that support operational decisions.
Prepare management reports for the Head of Finance and Executive Management.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
4 – 6years of accounting experience, preferably in telecoms or technology sectors.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and IFRS.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
