Job Title: Regional Fleet Coordinator

Job Description
The Regional Fleet Coordinator is responsible for planning fleet operations and product distribution to final destinations.
The role includes issuing loading tickets, tracking trucks via TMS, managing insurance claims, overseeing driver retention initiatives, enforcing drug and alcohol policies, ensuring timely maintenance and truck repairs, driving daily HSE compliance, coordinating driver training, managing driver communication, and inspecting calibration charts through data capturing, analysis, and reporting.
The key responsibility is to ensure effective product distribution while minimizing in-transit losses.
The Fleet Coordinator must be tech-savvy, with the ability to use digital tools and fleet management systems to enhance operational efficiency, improve tracking accuracy, and support data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
Truck Management:
Supervises daily update record of available trucks in transit, and fleet to distribute products nationwide from third-party depots
Ensures adequate stock reconciliation in all 3rd party depots
Ensure drivers comply with company policies and procedures for product transit or delivery
Track the truck in transit to the destination and back to the loading terminal as part of the logistics functions
Keeps a daily update record of available trucks and fleet to distribute products nationwide.
Ensures the truck data (driver details, licenses, plate numbers, GIT, particulars, etc.) is updated in the NMDPRA database.
Follow-up to ensure LT ( loading tickets ) are approved on the portal and trucks are proceeding to load
Ensure safe product distribution to customers to meet the daily plan from the 3rd-party depots
Continuous oversight of truck inspection of contractor fleet
Truck Mobilization:
Monitor efficient product distribution across all regions
Analyze product distribution on all product lines
Support the inspection/witness and verification of calibration processes to ensure zero error
Engage Internal and External stakeholders to ensure smooth truck mobilization, Monitoring/Tracking/delivery
Ensures that drivers comply with company HSQE protocols
Safety / OHSMS:
Ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, and organizational policies and procedures
Ensures safety standards are met by all personnel and contractors associated with the fuel transportation fleet, oversight of hauling fleet condition, and contractor safety performance
Compliance with MRS OHS policy, guidelines, SOPs
Compliance with the use of PPE
Work safely and ensure others work safely
Ensure good housekeeping
Ensure near misses and accidents are reported to HSE
Requirements
A good first Degree, preferably in the Social Sciences, Management Sciences, or Arts
A post-graduate degree in Business Administration or Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Operations Research, or shipping will be an added advantage.
A professional qualification in Purchasing and Supply or Logistics Management.
Atleast seven years’ experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in an oil and gas environment.
Has well-rounded experience in haulage management in the oil and gas downstream industry
Must have vast experience in government relations (especially NMDPRA, NIMASA, NNPC, etc.)
Must have adequate experience in managing labour relations (especially with NUPENG, PENGASSAN, etc.)
