The Federal Polytechnic Offa came out of gestation via a presidential announcement made during a courtesy call on His Royal Highness, Olofa of Offa, late Oba Mustapha Olawoore Olanipekun Ariwajoye II, by the then Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, who was on an official visit to Kwara State in 1991. The Polytechnic has two Campuses (Main and Mini). The Main Campus is located along Ojoku Road, Offa while the Mini Campus is located along Osogbo Road, Offa, Kwara State.

Duties
The Director, Physical Planning oversees all physical Palytechnic. His duties include the following:
Initiating, coordinating projects in the Polytechnic. Reporting regularly and with monitoring projects in the Polytechnic.
Articulating the institution's projects budgetary and when called upon to do so. Liaising on Behalf of the Polytechnic with external agencies e.g. ETF TETFUND, Federal Ministry of Education, National Board for Technical Education others as necessary for execution of the Polytechnic projects.
Administering all capital projects designs by external consultants, progress report on projects.
Regulating physical development within the Polytechnic and ensuring compliance with the Institution's master plan.
Reporting to the Rector on projects and activities of the Physical Planning Unit.
Qualities and Qualifications
The candidate for the post is expected to possess the following academic qualifications and personal qualities:
A good Degree / HND from a University or Polytechnic in Architecture, Civil / Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, Quantity Surveying Town Planning OR Estate Management with a minimum of 18 (eighteen) years post qualification experience.
Must be registered with relevant professional bodies i.e. COREN, CORBON, NSE for Civil/Structural Engineers for a minimum of 5 (five) years and similar bodies for other professions.
Must provide evidence of sustained professional practice and for administrative leadership.
Must be conversant with the business of Public Procurement Procedures and guidelines.
Must show evidence of involvement in construction and project management.
Must he able to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
Must be an individual with impeccable character.
Must be proficient in information and communication technology, and able to use a standard design and draughting software, e.g. ARCHICAD Or AUTOCAD.
Must not be more than 59 (fifty-nine) years of age on assumption of duty.
Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service
The appointment is for a term of Five (5) years and no more.
The salary for the position is CONTEDISS 15 while other terms and conditions of appointment are as provided by the conditions of service of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria or the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.
The appointee shall enjoy other benefits of office as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government.
