We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Furniture Factory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our wood furniture manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing factory operations, leading production teams, and ensuring the efficient manufacturing of high-quality wood furniture.
This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of woodwork, and the ability to manage both the creative and technical sides of furniture production.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management: Oversee daily production schedules and workflows to ensure that furniture manufacturing is on time, within budget, and of the highest quality.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of skilled woodworkers, machine operators, quality control staff, and other factory personnel. Provide guidance, training, and support for team development.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all products meet company standards and customer expectations.
Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and finished goods. Ensure efficient material usage to minimize waste.
Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve manufacturing processes, reducing inefficiencies and ensuring high standards of craftsmanship.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure the factory complies with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the factory’s budget, monitor expenses, and look for ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
Customer Collaboration: Work closely with the design and sales teams to ensure that customer specifications are accurately met in the manufacturing process.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that factory machinery and equipment are well-maintained and operated according to manufacturer guidelines.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production processes, inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and other critical factory metrics.
Requirements
Education: A Degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
Experience: At least 5 - 10 years of experience in wood furniture manufacturing or a related industry, with 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team of diverse individuals, creating a positive and productive work environment.
Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of woodwork, carpentry, and the use of machinery such as saws, sanders, and CNC equipment.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple production schedules simultaneously.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify production issues quickly and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Attention to Detail: High standards for craftsmanship and a commitment to producing high-quality furniture.
Safety Focused: Knowledge of safety protocols, with a focus on maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with advanced machinery (e.g., CNC machines, automated saws).
Knowledge of sustainable woodworking practices and eco-friendly materials.
Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Proficiency in factory management software or ERP systems.
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 Monthly.
