We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Egyptian Chef

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting To: Head Chef / Food & Beverage Manager
Work Environment: Restaurant, hotel, or catering service specializing in Egyptian or Middle Eastern cuisine.

Job Summary

• The Egyptian Chef will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Egyptian cuisine while maintaining high standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
• The role requires in-depth knowledge of traditional Egyptian dishes, ingredients, and cooking methods, combined with creativity to develop innovative menus that appeal to both local and international guests.
• The chef will ensure adherence to food safety standards and contribute to delivering an outstanding dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook authentic Egyptian dishes (e.g., Koshari, Molokhia, Mahshi, Fatta, Ful Medames, Kebabs, Shawarma, and traditional pastries).
• Develop and update menus featuring Egyptian specialties while balancing customer preferences and dietary requirements.
• Ensure consistency in flavor, portion sizes, and presentation across all dishes.
• Source and manage quality ingredients, spices, and condiments essential to Egyptian cuisine.
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure smooth daily operations.
• Train junior chefs and cooks on Egyptian culinary techniques and recipes.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with management to design seasonal menus, special events, and catering packages.
• Monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and minimize food wastage.
• Stay updated with culinary trends while maintaining authenticity in Egyptian cuisine.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma / Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent training.
• Proven experience (3–5 years) as a Chef specializing in Egyptian or Middle Eastern cuisine.
• In-depth knowledge of Egyptian spices, herbs, and cooking methods.
• Strong cooking, presentation, and plating skills.
• Ability to adapt traditional recipes to suit different tastes and dietary requirements.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety regulations.

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 Monthly.
